STIZEN9 if You're interested in knowing the sound of a 19th century guitar with gutstring and played without nails, I suggest you looking at my videos on my KZbin channel :-)

about these romantic guitars, they look alot smaller than the modern classical guitars... But I am starting notice that the sound from these smaller bodied "romantic" guitars are more beautiful than modern classicals. Am I imagining things or do some of you agree?

+STIZEN9 you are totally right. But these early romantic guitars sound even better if you play with gutstrings and without nails.

+STIZEN9 The music of that period sounds much better on the instruments they were written for. The sound difference is quite subtle but it is real.

@VelikyRostov9: What do you suggest - that she should shred a few notes, slap a few others, or introduce intentional buzzing? This piece is played with vigor and taste, and rather beautifully. There are lots of contrasts, rhythmic vitality, accents in the right places, and very musical phrasing.

Here is another great interpreter of the early 19th century guitar music. It is all played on period instruments. Check him out when you get a chance. Tons of wonderful music.

I've been enjoying listening to Giuliani's music played on guitars of the kind he composed it for. It sounds so much more appropriate than it did on the later style guitar I learned on. Can't wait to try one of them.

Very good, interesting to hear Aguado played on a contemporary instrument. I'm finding the early 19th century music a lot more convincing on a period guitar.

I think that this music is a production of the Guitar Museum in Brighton, England by James Westbrook. I may be wrong but if you go to that website you will find an email address for James and he may be able to help. Just Google in his name and "guitar" and you should be able to get to the site then get to home and find contact details. He may reply that he does not know but it is worth a try!
