I left DeMatha Catholic High School in 1988, at the age of 16, to complete my Maryland High School Diploma through the G.E.D. examination, and that was an excellent decision with no regrets.

19:22 I love how Dawson always forced the judges to accept answers past the buzzer. He even flat out lied for the contestant to help him out.

The Double valued question would never be asked on the show today, even if the questions were less-PG rated like in this era of Feud than in the current era.

This aired around mid-March 1984, since St. Patrick's Day sale is mentioned at Mattress Discounters(3/17 on Tuesday in 1984). Tape date 1/23 or later, since the then-Redskins lost Super Bowl 19 to the LA Raiders on 1/22/1984

I heard Pat sing three times when I lived in D.C. I have never forgotten his voice and how he sings, nor his excellent acoustic guitar. Thank you Pat. You are a true musician. Waiting at the Wall stunned me. Please do more recording. Even if it is on your laptop, I will listen and be transported to some magical or sombre place.

Terrific job Peter, I watched the entire zoom after it aired. I am so proud of your success. You look great too!! So much of what you said about the DeMatha education is so true. I am so proud to be a part of it. God Bless and take care. Al Guaragna, class of 1974.

this is from the 1983/84 Nighttime syndicated season with one of the last episodes of Dawson showing The New 6th Edition of the Family Feud home game this Aired either 4/28 or 5/1 because the next episode that aired 5/2/84 Richard shows off The New 7th Edition of the Family Feud home game for the rest of that season until the end of The 1983/84 Nighttime syndicated season starting with the 1984/1985 season the home game showings were discounted and never seen again until Ray combs took over for The Daily syndicated version in 1988

DeMatha Alumnus here, with a little message. When I attended this school I experienced harsh bullying and outright homophobia from the student body, but the administration had my back. Some of the teachers at this school are stunning , but do not expect anything beyond the average high school man if you send your child to this school.

Martyr? A martyr is someone, who dies in defense of their faith NOT, while in the process of getting laid. I knew Thomas very well and therefore I can attest he was neither a martyr nor a very moral or ethical man! may God have mercy on him!

It's academic used this opening for a long time. When did this opening, and the neon light set start?
@mbclev
@mbclev 6 жыл бұрын
The set was put up starting with the 1989-90 season (with the neon sign brought over from Baltimore after WBAL-TV cancelled the show), and I think that particular theme and opening sequence was used from 1990 until June 2017, after which a new theme and opening began to be used later that fall. (Full disclosure: I'm the honorary historian of the show.)

Today I was shopping shopping at Wall Mart with my wife Karen , in Laurel , Maryland . I saw this tall man , wearing a Notre Dame , cap . I spoke to him & asked him if he played Basketball at Notre Dame. He said yes . I asked him , if he knew Bob Whitmore or Sid Catlett. He said yes . He asked me my name. I told him my name is Ed Barrett. He laughed and said , I'm Collis Jones ! With great joy , I called over my wife Karen & introduced Collis to her. and went on to show her a scar over my left eye lid , that Collis had given me , in the first game , I played against him in high school . He played center , at Saint Johns. He then told my that Bruce Mitchell , had passed away. I was deeply saddened , to hear about Bruce . When I came to DeMatha in 1963 , I lived with my grandmother , in Takoma Park. In the summer , of 1967, there was a knock , at the front door, I saw a man who held out his hand , and , said , my name is Morgan Wootten . I shook his hand , & he said to me , son look me in the eye & give me a firm hand shake . He then , asked to talk to my grandmother. I was going to go to DeMatha Catholic High School to get an education & play on the basketball team. That year Sid played on the varsity, Wayne & myself played on the freshmen team. They following year, 64 -65 team . Wayne & myself made the Varsity Team & that's when I meet Bruce, in his freshman year he played football & basketball ! Smile. He was 6' 6 " tall & weighed 280 lbs . I was 6'5' tall & weighed 140 lbs. Smile. What a year that was. One of the thing that Bruce & myself did , for the Power Memorial game , was he & myself had been giving a tennis racket , to simulated , Kareem . Sid when , he was in his freshman year , he my himself got the tennis racket . I belie ve that was John Moylan's idea. I'm in my 70's & so I could be wrong on some of these stories , I'm sharing. Bruce was larger then life. He always was smiling & laughing. I saw Ray Smith , Of the famous " A note from Daddy Fame " Had Bruce up against the locker , next to the Algebra classroom. , looking down , at Mr. Ray Smith , & Bruce was smiling , and I could see, Mr. Smith trying not to laugh himself. Writing & remembering those years , I am getting teared up . My basketball career was cut short. In my Junior year I was found to have an irregular heart beat. I could no longer play sports. In 1967 when I graduated , I joined the Marine Corp . I saw Terry Wills at Paris Island at the end of Boot camp. Year later I was in Viet Nam. I went on & retired as a Pentagon & GNA Federal Police Officer & DOD Christian Law Enforcement Chaplain . I prayed ( which is talking to our Creator & God YHWH the Almighty One, through His Son Only Begotten Son , Lord Yahshua whom we call Jesus Christ our Savior & Messiah. I asked what do I share , with family members & friends , who have just loss a someone just like Bruce Mitchel ? " But I do not want you to be ignorant, concerning those who are asleep, that you would not sorrow as others who have no hope. For if we believe that Yahshua ( whom we call Jesus Christ ) , died and was raised again , so also those who sleep = dead within Yahshua will Elohim ( God ) bring with Him. For we say this to you by the word of Yahweh ( Isaiah 34:16 ) , that we who are alive & remain until the coming of the Savior Jesus Christ ( hebrew: Yahshua ( through whom Yahweh saves ) , will by no means precede those who are asleep . for Yahshua Himself will decend from heaven with a shout ( command ) , with the voice of the archangel ( Michael = Jude 9 ) , and with the trump of Yahweh God Almighty and the dead in Christ shall ( absolutely ) rise up ( from the dead first : ( by resurrection ) Then we which are alive & remain , shall be caught uptogether with them , in the clouds , to meet Lord Jesus in the air : And so shall we ever be with Lord Yahshau the Christ. So this way , , comfort one another with these words !
