OVER SEVEN HUNDRED STUDENTS BENEFIT FROM LIFE SKILLS WORKSHOP Students from different parts of Busia and Bungoma County attended a life skill workshop at Bungoma high schools for the last two days. The life skill workshop was supported by the Jomo Kenyatta foundation for students from venerable families with the theme how to encounter challenges during the long holidays. How to create their own academic time tables, how to encounter funny relationships and how to avoid drug abuse, and more so the former ones who didn’t know how to select subjects on the career they would like to pursue in future. Doctor Barasa Maende for Jomo Kenyatta foundation addressed the press said the life skills would help students during their studies both at home and at school before they exit their form four. Most students were grateful for the achievements since they can learn how to make their own timetable, socialize with friends and how they can choose subjects that can lead to a better future. One of the parents, Sam Anunda hailed the foundation for supporting needy students, otherwise they could have been misplaced within the society. The county director for education Bungoma While presiding over the closing ceremony confirmed seven hundred students had undergone life skills workshops which could support them during their education session. He further said the program was under elimu scholarship covering both Busia and Bungoma County basically form ones and form two twenty twenty-four, mentors had advised students while almost entering into the Christmas session. He challenged the parents to carry on with mentoring their children by giving them life skills. It's not that they are incapable nor that they can do better. Finally participants ended up planting trees within the school gardens
