But you can't tiptoe arround everyone's triggers, and just because they are triggered doesn't give them the right to act any kind of way towards you. We are people too... just like they are... and deserve the same grace. I had a patient once who treated me horribly during my initial assessment of her. When I left and came back, she apologized stating that she had had a rough day. I accepted her apology and told her that I had had a rough day also but I didn't take it out on her. My husband and I had been having a huge argument for several days and on that day we were contemplating divorce, but before we could finish our discussion, I had to leave to go to work... as she was my first patient for the night. As nurse, this happens often. Some patients feel like they have a right to behave like she did, not considering what we have just gone through in the other room. Their behavior (X) is a choice, and I am not their issue (also X). I am a person too.

So grateful!! So freeing and life changing. So many wasted years due to offense and unforgivness. But God's mercy. I am so grateful for God's discipline and handling me over to the tormentors. I can now have His heart and share His heart with the people. All the pain suffering and torment served its purpose. How wise and loving is our God. How merciful and good He is.

Appreciate prayer. My heart was so broken. I have been continuously tormented in agonizing pain the past 8.5 months over a situation from 2021-2023. I have been trying to forcibly go through these steps. I have Not been able to successfully get through this process. Non-stop pain, constantly disturbed about the situation, begging God to take me home or wipe my memory. I feel like the emotional torment is literally breaking my body down.

But how do you stop hurting? How do you forgive when you still have to be around that person regularly? I am still in relationship with this particular person, but I am constantly triggered and tormented in searing, Agonizing pain.

Same situation here. Forgivenese is such a great Key still. I am seeking a way to heal in the midst of continual hurt and don't want to give up. It seems healing is only possible when trust is possible. As long as that is not pissible with the person in question I pray God provides a way out or a way for me to suffer through. I choose the wound never get healed rather than unforgiveness. God bless

How do you learn to trust again? How do you stop hurting? If after you're triggered (which leads to recalling the painful betrayal), does feeling the pain and being triggered mean you haven't forgiven?

I often wondered about it too😢. Ask your Abba Father He will help you and show you if you have forgiven. The hurt is so deep I dont think it has anything to do with forgiveness. Healing of emotions takes time and I believe an unfaithfull husband should help his wife with the healing and building up process.❤

What if you sincerely tried this, but you didn't feel open, didn't feel compassion- all you felt was the pain of how they betrayed, rejected, lied to you- over and over and over? I'll keep going through this until it works

What do you do when there are triggers everywhere, and it just throws all the pain back in your face- how do you ever stop the torment? When you used to have confidence, but now you've been rejected and so beat down that you're left insecure and you don't know how you can possibly fix anything

Seems like you're in a loop. Pain causes the brain to produce certain chemicals and, believe it, the body can get addicted to those chemicals. It's a big distraction, grabs your attention. And if you're unaware of it, it'll get you off track. And it's not from God, It's from the father of lies. But once you're aware, you can look at it and say, "Get thee behind me. Satan." Imagine Jesus forgiving people pounding nails through his flesh. "Father. Forgive them. They know not what they do." Try again, maybe you'll catch it before it gets a grip on you. Just remember the perseverance and patience of Christ. Have in you that mind which is also in Christ Jesus! You are in my prayers. I know you can do this.

As a person who has been abused every way, since as early as I can remember, and who was held against my will for 3 days and the person was incarcerated for 4.5 years after pleading guilty-- I could NOT STAND the opening case example. I was so beyond disgusted and offended that I almost didn't listen to the teaching at all. I'm grateful God spoke to my heart and I chose to listen to the rest of this anyway. It was Powerful, Poignant, and Practical--> it was both a "How To" AND "Why." Anyone else who is disturbed by the first 8.5 minutes--> Please, don't throw the rest away!

Ask, then keep asking, and then wait. It is not up to you. Wait on Him and in the waiting, expect Him to open your eyes to Him. He is the peace. He alone can say, peace be unto you. Active waiting. You can't achieve what He alone can freely give in His time.
