About Erens laugh! We as the audience got a close up of erens face for that laugh and we were the only ones (besides mikasa) who saw him laugh after Hannes death. On the airship Connie and Jean saw Eren hunched over, shoulders shaking, and hear the sound of manic laughter. Erens long hair is also hiding his face as he’s bent forward. Connie and Jean are child soldiers who just learned their best friend died, I don’t think they have a lot of emotional empathy in general let alone in this moment.

A more rational way to do things would have been to do what Zeke suggested i.e Rumbling as a deterrent and Historia bearing children which Eren angrily refused because he seems to be emotionally attached to his immediate friends and prioritize them over the general welfare of the island. Eren's own plan has created a scenario where the entire world is now united against the threat of the Paradis because of their 'terroristic' attack. This does not seem that rational.

have u no viewer empathy ? don't put yourself in the room as them, from the PoV's you're aware of as the viewer. The ones who understand Eren the most, don't understand him now. Those two were not even in the scene when Connie spoke to Eren. Connie n Jean were both perplexed by Eren's reaction. That's why even after Mikasa's initial retort, it was never backed up n followed through...heck, even you misread eren in this episode lmao.

I think what Eren did, infiltrating Marley was completely justified and necessary. The leaders of Paradis literally had no plan and were sitting on their asses just waiting to be attacked. Hange is right. She is an incompetent leader imo. Erwin did make a mistake in appointing Hange has the commander. She is suited for scientific research not for leading a regiment. And holy shit Connie pisses me off so much. Completely misinterpreting Eren and inciting others to lose faith in him. You could see the pain on Eren's face last episode after hearing that Sasha died.

chill.... 'You could see'.... 'you is the viewer '... Connie didn't see that PoV. To Connie, he laughed n ducked his head... Also realise the fact, Connie isn't the most clever which he admits & you should also realise why he is angry towards Eren. It's because he's suddenly aboard his half-brother - Zeke's plan. Who is Zeke to Connie ? - The one who killed his whole family. Can you now, see why Connie is so against Eren, that it turns blinding from his PoV.

@@Supergh0stTV To be honest, probably $120 minimum, since patreon takes a hefty cut. Obviously an unreasonable amount of money for 1 person to pay. We were planning to pack the channel in after finishing aot actually, due to the low engagement/patreon demand. We do this as a fun hobby, but we live on a farm so there is a big opportunity cost in terms of time spent productively which means we can't really justify continuing with the current patreon interest. When you combine editing time, uploading time and recording time it adds up to quite a few hours per week

Konnichiwa lads. A little trivia for you both (no spoilers). If you NOTICED 3 people CRYING when Sasha died MIKASA, Armin & Connie. And the one VISITING Sasha's grave, MIKASA (before the rest arrived)? Sasha IS Mikasa's besties outside Eren and Armin, because Sasha and Mikasa WERE ROOMIES DURING THEIR TRAINING DAYS. That's why if you noticed as well that ONLY Connie and MIKASA BULLIES Sasha. Friendly bullying. Example on this ep. Mikasa was PULLING Sasha's hair to prevent her from taking a nap.

Konnichiwa lads. People of culture... we meet again. I guess we're gonna have SOME PEOPLE, EATING THEIR WORDS. I LOVE Gabi. I'm a WARRIOR, and I HATE the SPOILED SCOUTS. Gabi's NOT JUST brainwashed. The WARRIORS & WARRIOR CANDIDATES ARE OUT THERE TO PROTECT THEIR FAMILY. It was ALL explained in episode 3 (Reiner's story). DO WHAT WE (Marley Gov.) I’m glad you see Gabi as a monster and not as a victim… to be honest for 3 seasons I like Jean but in one episode Isiyama made me hate him… first not killing Gabi and Falco and then blaming Eren for Sasha’s death even so it’s not his fault at all.. Eren did nothing wrong. Floch shouldn’t have listen to Jean…

don't worry Jean is Jean... (he did shoot both Falco n Gabi during battle time, you're just blind to see that) you're just an extremist radical like Floch... - the whole raid was forced by Eren, that's why Eren is the root cause... Levi trashed him, Hange blamed him, didn;t you understand the dialogues ?

I want to preface this by saying I love this channel and analysis so far. These are the kind of reactions I look for. Though I did find this was the first time I strongly disagreed with a take, which is fine of course. Just commenting on it for the sake of discussion and not to hate. I think there's a massive difference between surprise attacking Marley in self-defense bringing the end to many innocent lives, and throwing an unarmed kid off an aircraft. (I think shooting her would be fine at the point where she had the gun in her hands) Yes she's monstrous and brainwashed, but she's also 12. Her values are similar to Eren's at that age, his monster was just Titans he saw himself instead of the 'monsters' across the pond Gabi has been brainwashed into seeing. I guess I would just generally hope to see brainwashed pre-teens given more leeway when the 'monsters' they've been indoctrinated into hating just attacked their home killing many friends and familiar faces. Regardless, you guys are great and I'm loving the content so far! Apologies if you're not looking for these kinds of comments lol
@AidanAndManuela
@AidanAndManuela 2 ай бұрын
We definitely agree that there is a difference between the attack on Marley and throwing Gabi out, our point in bringing that up wasn't to say that the latter ought to be done because the former was done, it was more just to undermine Jean's rationale. Regardless of the attack being justified (we agree that it was) it was incredibly destructive and killing one more child can't really be expected to make a meaningful practical difference to the revenge Marley might take. If Jean had just said "if we throw this kid out of an airship I will feel terrible and never forgive myself" we would probably have just said "fair enough". We have our preference but we don't think people are wrong in any meaningful sense to not want to throw Gabi out, it really just comes down to personal sentiment. Thanks for the thoughtful comment and appreciate the support!
@kait3n10
@kait3n10 2 ай бұрын
The throwing kids out of the ship was for both Gabi AND Falco. If they have the mentality to just throw them out, someone innocent like Falco would've been a victim too. Once they're detained and not a threat, i think there's no reason to just kill them off if you have the resources to keep them as prisoners. Great discussions as always!
@llortsenorita219
@llortsenorita219 2 ай бұрын
yep, they're emotionally involved lol, as if they're there... Jean doesn't even know Gabi n Falco... how would he in the moment choose Gabi to be the highly indoctrinated one & throw out of the window... pretty hollow discerning of Jean's conscience there... It should be noted that Jean shot at Falco earlier. Jean shot at Gabi here, when they were a threat... Gabi is dislikeable, totally yes... but Jean like Levi are not the type to engage in meaningless killings, when not in threat.
@AidanAndManuela
@AidanAndManuela 2 ай бұрын
@@llortsenorita219 You're assuming that the sole reason we said we would throw Gabi out is because she's the indoctrinated one. That's not the case at all, it's simply about punishing an enemy combatant who boarded your ship and shot someone. So yes, Jean cannot discern who the indoctrinated one is, but he doesn't need to. He just needs to discern who shot his ally. In any case, we weren't so much criticising Jean's choice to not throw her as much as expressing the choice we would make, and criticising the reasoning he expressed for his choice. "Pretty hollow discerning of Jean's conscience there..." not sure what you mean by this - did we make a false statement or something?
@AidanAndManuela
@AidanAndManuela 2 ай бұрын
Thanks, there definitely isn't any practical benefit to throwing Gabi out. It's simply a matter of fulfilling the human value of revenge. But we don't necessarily take issue with indulging that unless there is a strong reason not to
@llortsenorita219
@llortsenorita219 2 ай бұрын
@@AidanAndManuela Jean did discern who shot his ally, he did shoot at Gabi. He's the type who'd save Reiner from Hange. Jean's line was commented to deem deep, but come off as hollow and now commented as a 'reasoning'. It wasn't deep, it was a very Jean thing to say for someone who's had qualms with conflicts against humans. It wasn't a 'reasoning' to his choice either, the way he replied to was dismissive response, for something he deems as a pointless act in his perspective. There's no reasoning for something pointless.
