Hey, it’s a good level entry kayak but if you’re spending a lot of time out on the water in all conditions it’s just not up to the cut. I finally had enough when I was out 2 miles from shore and I had yet another problem with the seat which you don’t need so I decided to make the leap to the Hobie :)

Class stuff bud shame with the snap off ay ! Hopefully you get them on your next trip… if your interested i have a few videos on my channel whilst targeting the Tope etc on the Kayak. Check out the rigs I’m using you might find something similar might help. Il be doing a video asap on how I make up my biting traces it’s a piece of cake and no need for wire. Tight lines buddy!

Hi was wondering your opinion on the sturgeon and if you would recommend one? was looking at the HV ‘paddle version’ not to bothered about a pedal drive kayak plus my wife would kill me if I spent that much on a hobie. 😢

Hey D Sixx I mean for the money you get a lot but it’s just not quite there. Yes the Hobie is expansive but if you are going to stick at it year after year it’s a great investment 🤙

@@shorecroftkayaks1566 Thank you for that, I live near a harbour so really can’t make my mind up if to get the galaxy or a used boat (if the galaxy was no good) but the prices of used boats have shot up since covid, sorry for another question but what faults did you find? Was it the stability?

@@dsixx6166 I’d stick with the kayak route, they are much more versatile and cheaper to run and keep lol. There is no comparison against the Hobie to the Galaxy but it’s 3 times the price. The Galaxy isn’t that stable to be honest and everything is a bit “ok” not good on it…. My honest opinion, don’t get a Galaxy

Cool kayak! Back in the day, my dad bought a five-man inflatable dinghy with a snap together timber deck, put an outboard motor on the back and good times ensued. For one week at Whitsun, and two weeks in the summer, we smashed the North Devon mackerel. Couldn't stay out for longer than a couple of hours, because the two of us would have filled the boat with those lovely fish. We'd eat lovely fresh fish every day, mackerel, pollack, garfish. Me and my sisters would then take fish around the camp site, selling them for 10p a go, and Big Meadow campsite, between Ilfracombe and Coombe Martin was probably the most healthy fed place in England! Great memories!

Hate is a strong word here. It’s a great kayak for the money but just didn’t tick all the boxes the Hobie does. If you’re after a pedal drive kayak and on a budget I think you can’t go wrong with the Sturgeon. What do you have?
