You ranchers have your hands full with this pestilence that ravage crops and destroy livelihoods. Good luck getting rid of them. Whatever happened to the pig brig? Did you have any success with it? I was coming to believe it was more viable and and cost effective to operate than drop-gate style enclosures.

That’s the best video I have ever watched about making a trap. What home security camera was that on the tree? Seems like that magnet was the way to go. Where do you get that magnet and what’s it called? Thanks you are so kind to give this great explanation on cellular trapping.
@harrisfamilyranch48132 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the kind words Steve! The camera is made by Soliom but you can use whatever kind you prefer. We didn’t end up using the magnet because of some issues I couldn’t fix initially with power draw but in retrospect I had the solar panel supply wires crossed and it might have worked but we had already switched to a door popper solenoid. We have an update video on our channel that kind of details that.

We won’t get in an argument with you but we would like to understand your logic. Your opinion is that we are a contributor to the problem. How is it that the removal of whole sounders of pigs from our communities land owners properties contributing to the problem? We feel like that what we do is help the problem.

The Brig is the only trap that doesn't teach hogs how to avoid being trapped. That makes it the only trap that insures you trap the whole population.

Considering getting one of these for our hunting property, realistically how long does it take to set up? Also, how long to take down? When you condition it, looks like you use every other cam strap to create the sag, is that correct? Thanks!
@harrisfamilyranch48133 жыл бұрын
For one person, it is safe to say an hour to set up and an hour to tear down and obviously the more times you do it and if you have a helper, decreases that time. You are correct about the straps during conditioning. There are multiple ways to do it but that’s the way we like.

Awesome build video! Thank you for sharing with us. Did you change out your door magnet trigger mechanism? Is your gate heavy enough that hogs can't lift it up or do you locking device?
@harrisfamilyranch48133 жыл бұрын
We did change out the mechanism to a door popper solenoid and then I figured out that I wired the solar panel in backwards and probably could have run the magnet the whole time. We have not had a hog lift the gate to date. We entertained a locking device but decided not to do it unless it became a problem. We are 160 pigs caught and not one under the gate.
