Which pedals did you use for this? I've got a 1989 donor truck for my 1984, but i've heard the newer pedal set doesn't work. Just wondering if you've looked at them side by side enough to know whether it's possible to make them work, or if I need to just search for an 83-86 pedal. Thanks.

Please tell me you didn't reuse the old cylinder head bolts! The factory cylinder head bolts are torque-to-yeild and they stretch with just one toque down. If you reused the old head bolts, sure you'll tighten them to spec, but their clamping force is weaker than their first use. In the long run you'll have a head gasket leak and also run the risk of breaking those head bolts off inside the block threads. I've heard and read guys saying they've never had a problem using old head bolts, but just because they haven't it isn't a good idea to do it anyway and definitely not good tech to share. Not meaning to bash, so please don't take this as that.

What kind of fuel do you run, ethanol-free, or, regular, 93 with ethanol?... I'm asking trying to figure out what color accelerator pump cone to use.. mine originally had the red cone, I've replaced it with the blue one and after a few runs it'll start intermittent hesitation upon acceleration

I have a 96 4.3 Chevy k1500 4x4. If you use starting fluid or gas to prime the truck it starts up every time and runs for the day until the next day. No codes, 55-60 psi fuel pressure. Going to jump the injectors so I can prime the truck that wAy in the morning and see if that will make it starts in the morning. Carburetor and a distributor would fix all this technology bullshitt

Hey man you don’t have to put it in manual mode to lockout gears which by this time you probably already know this but you can just leave it in drive and down shift on your selector what gears you want to lockout for towing

My my truck was running in park I threw my floor mat in got in put it in drive started going down the road came up to a stop sign let off the gas and it continued to accelerate that continued for several more seconds realizing then that the floor mat was on the accelerator after that when I put it into drive, there was a long pause before it slammed into first thenrev up high I’d let off the accelerator, it shifted into second and then thirdand overdrive work fine reverse. There’s a long pause before it slams in reverse and when in first or reverse after the pause and it goes into the gear if I let off the gas does it again what do you think? 92 f150 2wd 302

Those trucks are also notorious for having a worn distributor cam gear, so they run like a little out of time. You can’t time it, you have to replace the gear.

I'm sorry man, I thought everything would turn out well. I know how frustrating it is when this happens, something similar happened to me about 2 years ago but with a comp cams cam kit. I did the entire initial break-in procedure following the instructions and after 15 minutes a tik tik tik noise started, when I disassembled the engine I only saw one love and one lifter worn together, all the other lifters and love were excellently good. Another story: many years ago when I was starting to build engines I used a Howards cam and Howards lifters, I overlooked any break-up procedure out of ignorance, I used regular oil and I didn't have any problems, it was luck or the Howards cam had better material, I don't know.
