Your videos were fantastic for learning, so clear. Thank you! Just checked - I made a couple of the shell beanies in mid 2012, so must be 12 years

Something I’m curious about is when you have so much yarn do you pick projects mostly based on what you have? In my stash I often have not quite enough of a yarn for what I want to do so end up having to buy new yarn instead. Mind you, mostly I just buy what I need for a project, so my stash is leftovers (rather than buying yarn because it looks nice without a project in mind) so maybe that’s why.
@CrochetwithClare5 күн бұрын
Yes, generally, I pick the yarn from my stash. The 2 shelves of Red Heart Super Saver were mostly supplied to me by Red Heart. The rest are my own purchases. I use the Dk yarn to make knitted headbands on my Addi knitting machine and for personal crochet projects. Every now and then, I like to go through my yarn scraps and make a scrap yarn project.

Hi Clare... this is why I don't sell anymore.... the last straw was expecting a queen sized full coverage blanket for a bed for way less than the prices you quoted. I barely put any labour into the price because people just won't pay that... forget 10/hr even though that is not even a wage! Handcrafted crochet or knitting just doesn't seem to appear to the public as a 'job' worthy of your time being included in your price. I should have just priced it out properly and let them reject it... it would have saved a lot of pain on my part. Lesson learned. I.don't.sell.

Wow! That's awesome! I did a destash on mu yarn, if I have had it longer than 5 years, I donated it. I manages to get rid of 2 big garbage bags. I just knew I would never use it and it was taking up space and overwhelming me. I also tried to stop buying yarn unless I needed it for a project that needed finishing. Organise by brands, range and then colour. Do a little bit at a time and it should help with being overwhelmed ❤
@dianne12148 күн бұрын
I loved the video. I would have liked to have heard your thinking why you put certain yarns where. I recently have been donated so much yarn. Currently it’s all in bags around my bedroom. I cleared off one of my sho shelves to make room for all the yarn. I’ve started going through what I want to keep and what I’ll redonate. I was going to go by colors but then I discovered this bunch of really sweet baby yarn that I don’t want to break up in colors. Some have different weights. Some I already know what I’ll use them for, but it’s overwhelming to have all this beautiful yarn and not know the best way to organize it so I can pretty quickly grab a color and weight that I want without having to go through several skeins of yarn making a new mess to clean up. Can you maybe just offer a few tips of your thinking?
@CrochetwithClare8 күн бұрын
Hello! How wonderful to be donated some yarn ❤ I organise this shelving unit by brand. The top 2 shelves are Red Heart Super Saver, so they are all worsted weight. The next couple of shelves are all number 3 weight yarn, mostly Style Craft brand, but with a few other brands mixed in. Bottom shelves are Icr Yarns and a few random cakes. Great idea to re donate what you can use. Hope this helps, have fun with your new yarn.
