69 is actually the best year ever, but it's complicated. The best model is the '68.5, there's an extra model between 68 and 69 that's the one with the 428 Cobra Jet engine. They always put the 68.5 in all the movies and games like Gran Turismo and stuff, I'd argue it's the better model, but a lot of people refer to the 68.5 as a 69, so it frequently gets confusing.
