Wich is better evolve 9ft speed or kai spears 7-8ft is longer the better?
@onfirefishinghawaii21 күн бұрын
I feel it’s preference … Like the evolve with a stock rubber is maybe same or just a hair faster… But the Kai spear has a heavier rubber and the spear is a little heavier and more stiff, so it has more power… So for the cost you can’t beat evolve. And if you need to break down the spear for space or storage I would go with an evolve, but they may eventually break or corrode at the connections. But if you got the extra money I would go with a 8’ Kai. Cause I feel like they are stronger and last longer. What type of fish are you targeting? Cause if you just trying to shoot Kole and manini… a 8’ graphite is super fast and probably the cheapest of the options.

Only thing about head mount is that some fish are attracted to light at night like needle fish it could dart right at you hitting you in the face.

Nice weke, thanks to Orca torch 🔦 that night diving looks so bright. Make a video night diving again where you can see more life of many different fish, small or big, just to explore 🤙night diving is the bomb. It been many years since I did so it pretty amazing.

You brave if you dive at night. You nuts if you dive at night alone😂😂🤙🏾 had a 5 ft white tip pull my kui and dive float that was attached to my belt with a float line it yanked me back about 5 feet almost instantly, scared the 💩out of me. Now I only dive during the daytime😂🤙🏾

So your saying the Evolve CT 9 aluminum anodized ferules connecting the carbon shafts together, you would recommend to change them to stainless steel to prevent corrosion. Sounds good to me. Any upgrades from Evolve.

I think you can’t go wrong with Kai spears, or skeeprong , or evolve.

I will try to manufacture my pole spear in Brazil, do you have any tips?
@onfirefishinghawaii2 ай бұрын
Sorry I don’t build them so I don’t think I would be much help. But it depends on what you are trying to shoot ? Fiberglass is cheap but heavy and slow but for octopus it is ok. If you are using it for fish , I would go aluminum if you want to do it for cheap, but I would prefer graphite or carbon to shoot fish. Cause it is faster and doesn’t warp like aluminum . But it is more expensive
