I watched your most recent stream and I'm glad that my advice helped! When will your next stream for this game be? Here's two more pieces of GUI advice that are somewhat less useful but might still be nice to know: you can hit "right" on any list screen to jump to the next page, and you can hold the equivalent of the B button (I'm not familiar with the Switch layout) while the game is placing prize cards and drawing cards to speed it up. "We could use one of the deck recipes actually, from the machine, that's probably a good starting deck." I would recommend against relying on the deck machine decks. I've heard that they aren't very good. Plus, except for the first one, you can only activate them by obtaining their respective medals. So you can't activate the fire deck machine until you've defeated the fire leader. Still, if you're curious, there's no harm in checking them out. Regarding 4 Energy Removals: the hardest part of making a deck, to me at least, is that there's never enough space to max out all of the good trainers. 4 Energy Removals is good, but it has to compete with Scoop Up/Switch, PlusPower (that extra 10 damage can sometime push the enemy into KO status), Energy Search (if you're running a two-color deck), Computer Search, Gust of Wind, and of course Bill and Professor Oak, among others. It's usually a juggling act trying to figure out what cards you have to cut. Also, if you liked the gameplay in this game and want more of it, there's the Japan-only sequel that included many more cards and had a second world map to explore. It wasn't released for the Switch and it was never officially translated to English, but the fan-translation is worth checking out if you liked the game and want more of it.

I tried mentioning this last time but it apparently ran afoul of automated processes intended to keep conversation here authentic, so I have to be very careful about what I say. But a good place to look for Pokemon deck ideas would be found by looking for Retro Pokemon TCG, specifically the three sections under the title "Wizards of the Coast era". As a side-note, two Pokemon cards, Ditto and Electrode, had special abilities that couldn't be coded into the Game Boy game, so the game designers created alternative, GB-exclusive versions. So there are a few decks located in the place I mentioned that you won't be able to run, but it's not that big of a deal. Some advice: 1: You can sort the cards on the screen by hitting the select key, or whatever the select key is bound to on the Switch. 2: The select key on the battle screen is a good way to look around the play area quickly. 3: If you haven't already, go to the config menu and bump the text speed to max. 4: If you dump all of your energy cards into decks and leave none behind, then talk to the guy to the right of Dr Mason, he'll give you a bunch of energy cards. 10 each, I think. You can do this multiple times, and it's way faster than the 1 energy card you get from each booster pack. 5: Unlike the IRL card game there's no penalty for taking a mulligan as often as you need to, so early in the game, when you're still short of decent cards, I'd thin the deck to only include the best Pokemon cards you have access to (highest HP, deal damage the fastest, hit the hardest.) 6: Draw power is very important. I like to include 4 Bills and 3 Oaks. Energy Removal and Super Energy Removal are also strong cards. Very frustrating to go against.
