Hi, how long does it take to step the mast and rig for sailing. I.e from arriving with trailer to ready to sail I am on the verge of buying one but finding it hard to find anyone who has sailed one, I have the money ready and permission off the wife to purchase. I have been a fan for years, I currently. Have a first 210 which I will bring home and swap for the 24se. We do light club racing, and family cruising, just trying to make sure she would be suitable for us as it will need to go to Ipswich to visit family for long weekends and Solent where we have another family boat, then club racing on a Rutland Thursday evenings

These 360 filming's are backwards and fuzzy. Your filming should have just aimed the camera and used the right lenses. Nice boat.

Good info mate, please keep on showing your experiences.

I would prefer proper moulded seats with a backrest, as Phill says otherwise causing yourself pain from the lifelines. So even a ocean sailor appreciates good ergonomics. With decent seating then you also get a coaming to reduce the water getting into the cockpit. If you are keen on hiking, then you can sit on top of the coaming. I have cockpit cushions for the added comfort.

With such a wide cockpit, it deserves proper cockpit seats, you can always hike up on the backrests if you want the active seating position. It's just not thought out. Far safer for kids too.

The problem is that Beneteau do the bare minimum, from design to construction to finish. For example the cockpit design should include moulded seats with a proper ergonomic seat back, much safer for children, way more comforatble for adults.

What does that have to do with a trailer launch video?

Any option for an auto-steerer or temporary lock on the rudder?
@SeascapeEdition2 ай бұрын
Absolutely, you can choose on-deck autopilot tiller arm and we're also working on more advanced underdeck AP system.

too uncomfortable, better to have a mooring in port

Uncomfortable to launch?? How so?
@SeascapeEdition2 ай бұрын
Probably everybody prefers to have a boat ready-to-sail moored in the water, but that's not always available. In many areas, free moorings are not available or too expensive. Having a slip-launch possibility doesn't affect the standard "berth setup" in any way, but significantly widens what you can do with your boat. You can easily trail the boat to explore new destinations and lower the costs of winterisation (when you can store the boat in your backyard).

Absolutely in love with the speed - 9-10 knots planing on a close reach is breathtaking. In order to get that speed, there is essentially no interior at all - comfort needs to be sacrificed.
@SeascapeEdition2 ай бұрын
Without a doubt a sailing boat is a compromise by definition. If you're looking for much more comfort, while keeping the comparable sailing sensation, there is for sure worth checking BENETEAU First 36. Just be warned, speeds there can be much higher :-)

when shes reaching along, going full tilt, the center of gravity is well forward pushing the bow into the water as reciprocating aft portion is out of the water.....really remarkable. The down side would be in a sudden deceleration upsetting that balance. Incredibly exciting design.

needs a symmetrical spinnaker. then it's not far off being a really good boat
@SeascapeEdition2 ай бұрын
By our experience fast planning boats better works with asymmetrics, but in some particular VMG situations, symmetric spinnaker is always a possible add-on.

Question about a keel. If you hit a shallow lake bottom, will it break or it will pivot/hide?
@SeascapeEdition2 ай бұрын
Release valve will open and the keel will simply swing backwards. it was tested quite a few times by now ;-)

I would have loved to come 🤩, especialy after the fantastic and first experience on Seascape Challenge 2023 ⛵where I have been able to experiment how is it possible to technicaly and rapidly progress with training and with the sailing sessions and experience sharing with the Seascape/First community, but unfortunately I can not afford to be away from work during this period of June 😭😭. I wish you all to enjoy the European's in Traunsee
