A dissonant work but the counterpoint is strong. I can follow it and it makes sense. Considering it is weitten in 1945 at age 25 years in a Nazi Death Camp it is a remarkable piece of music. May all the Nazis be Rotting In Hell for All Eternity!!! The more i listen to this music the better it sounds to me. Gideon Klein had the Gift as did Schulhoff and Hass, and Krasa and Ullman and Leo Schmit and Marcel Tyberg. Countless others also. Tragic. Never Forget !

I am a clarinetist and I have played this tune in an international folk music band that I used to belong to, but I have never heard it sound like this. Wow.

One thing to notice, the use of the Hebrew language. Each language have differents sounds bank, accent, musicality of it’s own. And Hebrew feels old, rusty, wise and sacred, it feels fragile, and the sadness of words and melody feels amplified by the sounds of the klezmer tradition, il is own spoken language.

I'm a long time guitar player and have just taken up mandolin. Trying to listen to as broad a range of mandolin music as possible. Love it. Turkey is home to some amazing music.
