Does car have to jigged up or braced in some fashion to replace floor boards? Or maybe not seeing as you are replacing only small sections. Anybody have any thoughts on that?
@Chuck_House_of_Mopar19 сағат бұрын
I would think that If your rockers and roof are good then no additional bracing would be required. I suppose that you could weld in a piece from the door jamb to the A pillar if you have reservations.

@@toru_rose6564 He probably either mists it with a squirt bottle or less likely, he submerges it. From what I understand, you have to use baking soda to neutralize.

Wet blasting is the way to go on that k member... I did my 72 darts k member a 74 spool mount one first of course I completely reinforced it in all critical areas boxed in and lower pivots welded... Rustolem is an excellent budget friendly choice using enamel hardener will produce a very tough finish...treating the bare k frame with phosphoric acid and then self etching primer and coating in rustolem will do a great job my k frame has been on years still looks freshly done.

Good point, I'll add it to the list of things to try.

Well, there's probably a bunch of different ways to do a restoration. I like how you're doing yours Chuck. Make the car how you want it, why you want it to be that way. Sure, you could do a 'factory correct' resto, but unless you plan to take it to Mecum or Barrett-Jackson to make big $, why bother. Build the car to enjoy it, nice solid driver that you're not afraid to put the miles on. 👍
@Chuck_House_of_MoparАй бұрын
I agree. I plan on driving this a lot and it's actually going to be nicer than what I had originally planned.
@Daytona-fr7fxАй бұрын
@Chuck_House_of_Mopar right, sometimes getting a little carried away in a project makes a nicer outcome than anticipated. I know you initially planned on that being on the road already, and if you had "skipped" some of the things that you're taking a little extra time to do, it probably could have been. But in the end, you're gonna have a nice driver that's done how you want.👍

So happy to see Louise return to a home where she's truly appreciated.. In 1968 I was an Englishman newly married to a gorgeous California gal and my first car was a '65 Satellite with the sturdy 318 engine bought for $1,479 in Pasadena with 43,300 on the clock. How I wish I still had that car, she was a gem, a sweet car with no vices.. I drove her all.over the US for vacations, and business trips putting another 86,000 on her. I had to repaint the roof when the factory paint blistered a bit around her fifth birthday, but never had to touch the engine. She was still getting around 16 to the gallon on the highway on leaded premium when I traded her in for a 67 Jaguar XK-E..with the 3.8 liter in line six..Oh boy, was that ever an expensive.mistake! But I learned.my lesson and bought a '70 Plymouth Fury III Sport Coupe with the 383 engine... I never felt the connection with that car like the joy my Satellite gave me. Her name was Judy, just like my wife.

Bought my 1st car in 1965 just before i turned 16. It was a 55 Plymouth Belvedere 4 door, 6 cylinder flat head and 3 on the tree. Paid a whopping $40 bucks for it! Drove it through my senior year in HS. Now at 74 years old i have a 53 Plymouth Cranbrook coupe, and over the last 20 years has evolved into a drag and drive car. I'm documenting the build on my 53 Plymouth channel. Stop by and comment. Enjoy the 56, I always loved the lines compared to the 55.
