it does 125W RF at full power, so it draws about 20 amps max during peaks in SSB.

Nice collection! Congratulations. I too have a Scimitar V, but, does not work and i not have the service manual to repair of this. Did the friend have this manual?

Pinznut, don't vehicles from Graz seem to be made for HF (and easy up-armoring) nearly everything is bonded, and the body and frame are made out of metal by humans. Goes Ham in hand. I would love a pinz, unfortunately almost as rare as Motorola HF commercial radios on civvy street.

Fantastic! I have not set eyes on these radios since the mid 80s when I was helping to build them at Marconi in Chelmsford, UK, a real nostalgic moment for me :-)
