Posted my comments on the wrong video but can anyone explain 03/04 (8:15) to me. Just a random shot of some bloke flying towards a ground with some shots of previous season's action (and Wenger loosening his tie), sounds like a Metallica track aswell? Easily the worst of Sky's efforts and unsurprisingly lasted just one season. The "Time is Now" then followed in next five years which was iconic intro for arguably the most memorable Premier league era.

One randomly came into my head from growing up so found this great compilation to see which season it was.....03/04. The most bizarre one which unsurprisingly lasted only one season. 92-97 felt like a huge occasion theme with Sky getting the rights and only one Sunday game in that era. 97 onwards was when first started watching Sky so nostalgic, 2000-02 actually felt like more a lazy Sunday tune to relax and watch the game! Agree on 2005-09 being the best. 2016 + onwards reflects the era of being more gimmicky towards personalities than fans and teams.

The very 1st theme used during the early 90s was class tbf, the voice introducing the games and the graphics, with the music dubbed over it, really gives you the feeling that something big was happening I think it gave you the idea that every single Sunday it was a big deal...Sky really did revelationize the way sports was covered in the UK.... where as now its just presented as another day of football... which in fairness is probs due to the fact that there is so much coverage of footy on the tv now days, literally every single day there's a live game and I suppose that takes the novelty out of it.... always really like the ronan keating theme... and the molko theme brings back some good memories, as that was probs the era my fandom was at its peak.... however I have to say club foot by Kasabian was the best.... gets you really hyped up

Yep big event music for the only Sunday game in that era. By contrast the 2000-02 gives a really lazy Sunday vibe to things! Prefer the intros that have the fans going to the games rather than it being geared to the personalities from 2016 onwards.

The early 90s intros are so American and corny! My favourite is the Moloko theme (04/05 - 08/09), but overall the quality of the 2000s intros are amazing - Written In The Stars will always be a banger.

the 2005-2009 era was elite, Moloko's 'The Time is Now' song lyrics hit so different, especially when they used to do those 'Grand Slam Super Sundays' with 2 fixtures between the big 4 every season

Brother, I think it was a mid-season spot, and it dates back to between 2015-2018, I mean between those dates, I remember that it announced the Premier League, Sky Sports came out, and Leroy Sane and Sir Alex Ferguson and Manchester United came out, If you could search for it, and upload it, more than anything for the song, which is apparently sung by a big person, thanks and sorry for the inconvenence

2009 - 2015 were the peak years. The graphics are better now but not the soundtracks. The soundtrack should always be hardcore and get people up for it. Club foot and Written in the stars are absolute bangers and all time classics. Tom Greenan does not hit the same

The main issue was David Beckham could only play right midfield. If Beckham wasn’t there it could have been Scholes 6, gerrard 8 , Lampard 10

@@connorjames6226 they were trying to play 442 in an era that had moved into 433. Beckham was an issue but I think the main issue was wasting Scholes potential by playing him down the left flank. IMO that’s a much more knucklehead manager decision than playing Beckham where he is used to playing! They could have used Beckham as a right winger and it would have probably worked better than a 4 midfield flat 😂
