I just installed one on my BRZ 17+ the lip on the reverse lock out plate couldn’t reach the shifter no matter where I placed it. So I put a washer on all 4 bolts under the lock out plate to lift it and it works perfectly stopping me moneyshifting into reverse lol!

Where do I get that black piece that connects to boot retainer
@kornshadow0973 ай бұрын
I just finished an install for a customer. I only took off the front transmission support crossmember and didn't touch the heat shield or the second cross Member attached to the shield. It was unnecessary in my experience. The 3x 12mm bolts are easy to reach w/a extension and wobble adapter. For the pin I didn't have a punch w/ me so I fashioned a punch out of a screw and grinded it flat and removed the threads, using a auto E-hammer made the job easier, a standard hammer was taking forever and was way too crammed of an area to work even on a mobile lift. As far as removing that clip in the shift linkage I'd also advise against it as it barely helps make any clearance, instead take off the 2x 12mm bolts holding the shift linkage on and pull the whole bracket w/ clip out of the way. Easier to take off and no PITA clip to put on and put back on in that tight space. Putting the new pin in with my auto hammer was super easy, took 30s, the hammer was just to get it started... From there I wouldn't waste my time after hitting my fingers with the hammer 3x due to aluminium transmission mounting areas getting in the way and deflecting my strike. A sharpie is your friend when lining up the cotter pin to the hole.

What is the brass looking bushing you put on for? Is it necessary for the install? Or is it to slightly firm up the shift feel?

My button goes , but only functions when it’s screwed half way, if it’s tight it doesn’t push in, only when it’s loose

Does this lower the height of the shift knob, leave it the same, or raise it? It almost looks like it raises the overall height of the knob in the video, but I can' quite tell. Definitely doesn't look like it lowers it!

This video is absolute BS I wish it was that easy to take off. I have a new 2024 Elantra N and the stock shift knob will not come off no matter how hard I try and I’m a big guy. I’ve had multiple other people try and they can’t take it off either. The 2024’s are a new trim and it feels like it’s impossible to take off. Just a heads up to current ‘24 owners.

Love the BW shift plate and short shifter, but you gotta add in the part where you lube the shift cable before trying to put it on the bushing. It's a PITA without lube, and then actually using the shifter is terrible. I went back and added lube to the bushing and now its butter smooth.

is there any way to stiffen the centering spring? going from 2nd to 3rd i feel like the spring is kinda weak and i sometimes hit the divider between 1st and 3rd. never had that experience in my other cars until i got the GR.
@MightyP015 ай бұрын
A lot of us have had the issue. Look up a "pitch mount". It's basically a motor mount and should stop that issue. I have the Delta X, but there are 5-6 options out there.
@himmihyme26655 ай бұрын
@@MightyP01 pitch mount was the first upgrade i put on the car, it may have helped centering a tiny tiny bit but i still want a stronger spring. im prob just going to get a coolerworx short shifter if i cant find anything else.
