Some dogs just have it in them. I had a border collie growing up, so I was always herded as a kid, and so where our chicken, cats, other dogs, horses, cars driving past, visitors, and anything she tought needed her supervision. different style of herding as opposed to a rottie though... I think I'll go buy a rottie, quit my job and become a shepherd.

The operative word in this test is "instinct", most dogs that do this "instinct" test are "green" and have never been around or seen sheep or livestock before. they're just testing it's inate ability to herd. You have AKC Herding Group dogs that won't do as much as this.

I laughed so hard at the one who grabbed the stick from the one who swam all the way out and back and then ran like, "Hey Mom, I got the stick for ya!"

The dog shown in the video jumps approximately 14 feet but his housemate, a female Rottweiler usually jumps around 18 feet. :)

I have 4 rotties and one pug that is my son's. I babysit during the baseball season as he plays pro ball so I have baby Bear 7 -8 months out of the year depending on the playoffs. When he is here is is the ALPHA male ROFLMAO ! They say big dogs and little dogs become best friends and it is so true . I also swim all of my dogs here in Maine but have to put a lifejacket on the pug/terrier lolol but he keeps right up with them :) I LOVED this video you have beautiful dogs

Wow what a lovely family you have there! I love seeing them all playing like that! My Daisy hated swimming and only did it if we were all swimming with her! Wonderful dogs :)
