That's the one bad thing about having a gooseneck vs a bumper pull trailer. If your trailer was a bumper pull you could've just rented a truck and keep on doing business.
@dieselsam12 күн бұрын
Yup that’s why the plan is to get another truck. But in all honesty I will probably be getting a hooklift truck and swapping out my dumpster. The gooseneck is much better than bumper pull that’s why I chose to go with it instead. I was thinking about an everyday use the gooseneck is more practical especially with towing.

Your truck sounds good man sometimes the 4r100 won’t move if it’s low on fluid could leak from many spots but usually they don’t fail at stock levels for 300k plus miles
@dieselsam25 күн бұрын
Thank you, it was the torque converter that had gone bad. It caused the trans to burn some of the clutch packs, but I got those replaced too. The fluid was at a good level and was still red but the truck runs good now though.
@huntersharpe170023 күн бұрын
@ yea that’s what happened to my first truck after we rebuilt it we installed the 6.0 trans cooler which is much bigger than 7.3 one and installed transgo tugger shift kit and haven’t had issues for 230k miles You can find the factory trans coolers cheap at pull a parts plenty of 6.0s around me at east coast. Main thing that kills them is heat could get deeper pan , I’ve heard that removing cooler bypass hose will cook them down too awesome vids man

I am brand new to this market still figuring it out. So most of my leads have been from fb ads or word of mouth. I had a slow start and there will always be those slow months just make sure if you get into this field you don’t give up. It takes time to get your name out there, thats what I am currently doing. Make sure you ask for reviews from all your customers I just started asking last week because I noticed how important that is. Thanks for the support!

You didn't show the actual transmission removal, which is what I wanted to see. Do you just remove the starter, and then pull? I can't see anything holding mine in, and I'm all the way to the point of removing the starter.
@dieselsamАй бұрын
You don’t even have to remove the starter, but I do because it makes it easier when pulling the transmission out. What step are you at? Have you taken the bellhousing bolts out?. You need to take the top of the shifter off too, so its able to slide out. Onces thats done it should slide out.
@Luke-Cant-StopАй бұрын
@@dieselsam I have the shifter off, I can't see any bellhousing bolts like a normal transmission. I guess I'll have to look harder haha. Are they supposed to be so hard to find? Usually they're just around the bell housing edge closest to the engine, no? I have the transfer case off as well. Thanks for taking the time to offer advice, appreciate ya!

What do you do for a living to have access to a shop like that? Assuming you're still in your teens you're doing good for yourself. Stay consistent with the build and you will see how big you can grow especially because you do the work yourself and don’t pay anyone to get it done. You don't see much of that these days. Whatever you want to do is possible.

I used to be in the blue collar field till I got more invested in my school work. Don’t get me wrong there is a bunch of money in the trade field, but those 60-80 hour weeks while in school were not worth it. Money was good, but no matter the amount it never kept me happy for long. It taught me a lot, but the Lord led me to a different path. Currently finishing my last year and a half of college, so I can start my business. The shop is someone else’s I used to work for and I’m 21. Thanks for the support.

Also if you don't already have one you're gonna want to find a 6.0 trans cooler to put in. I'm assuming you've already got a set of gauges to monitor everything, so keeping an eye on that trans temp shouldn't be an issue. The factory coolers suck and will easily reach 200+F in the summer. Not far after that is when your atf fluid starts breaking down and then you can imagine nothing good happens after that lol. Keep that trans cool and with good pressure regulation (tubing) it will last forever. Best of luck to ya
@dieselsam9 ай бұрын
I put a 6.0 cooler a week or two before I put the transmission in. It was this video. kzbin.info/www/bejne/a6W2nKZma5Z8hMUsi=FAuG8R43Pa5wAhfb

Are you new to 7.3s in general or have you owned this truck for a while now? There's not a ton of people on the forums these days but there are some decent FB groups you can still get good information from. I hope you don't have any issues with those injectors, FFD isn't what they used to be, back when they were known as Casserly. Lot of people complaining of poor quality control. Do you have an OBDII dongle and Torque Pro? After a couple hundred miles of driving when all of the air is out of the high pressure oil system I'd wanna look at ICP and duty cycle during some highway pulls..to make sure those injectors are holding ICP.
