Gabby Jay is probably impossible to lose to. Beginners who have no idea how the game works might lose to Glass Joe.

I find Soda Popinski TD is more difficult than Mr.Sandman TD, his side steps really mess me up. Sandman on the other hand I don't have much trouble with because I find the timing to get a star or at least a hit off from his wink punches not to be too bad. Plus you can get him down pretty quick if you hit his "BOO!" with a star punch.

51:50 my first “tough” opponent was bald bull. When I was 7 he was my first brick wall of an enemy I couldn’t pass. So, I Definitely agree on he’s the first somewhat challenging fight for newcomers.
@zeke763417 күн бұрын
I think nes hippo should be higher, if you didnt know how to win that fight either from word of mouth or a magazine or something, it was pretty tough to figure out for yourself. Nowadays you can just look wherever for info, but that fight was super frustrating when that game was current.

Amazingly, I never realized before this video that there are two different Punch-Out characters with the first name piston. You put piston Honda right after pissed in hurricane
@420gzuz17 күн бұрын
There's simply has to be some kind of a backstory about why Nintendo chose to use piston as a first name and then decided to do it a second time

I stopped playing video games after n64 but i just noticed that his name was retranslated from honda to hondo and i think thats hilarious. Did the car company use their trademark to jerk around any updates to the street fighter series featuring emundo honda? I now wonder...

For easy stars on NES Great Tiger, just jab the side he ducks to uppercut. You easily get 3 stars that way and can speed run the fight really quick

Just playing through the Wii Punch Out for the first time, I think you underestimate the difficulty of some opponents like Bald Bull and Mr. Sandman in title defense. NES Macho Man is way easier than those two if you ask me.

A lot of the later fights punish the habit to always dodge left. Once you break that habit by varying up your defense, they become much easier.

NES Glass Joe should be the easiest. its so easy you can reliably get a world record time with one single punch!
@jraff273527 күн бұрын
Hoy at 16 is kinda lowballing (or in this case highballing) him tbh, you yourself take 2:30 to TKO him and get hit a BUNCH before you actually manage to knock him down. He's got way more up his sleeve than it looks and he's def harder than the Bear Hugger refight.

I love the video! But I feel that context of each game is missing. The arcade version would be spending actual money per attempt, NES fights without the internet or guides for example. I personally see the newer games' faster movement of the fighters as a positive: They're easier visual cues to decipher. The audio cues and vocal cues also help a lot. But I like your list of personal experience with a focus on match mechanics, it was great to lean back and hear your thoughts.

This is great. I feel like you’re really in depth discussing the boxers and their styles a la real boxing rather than just saying “do this do that” for video game purposes. I remember playing the original Punch Out! In the arcade as a kid.

NES Von Kaizer is easy as hell to get stars, when he ducks left to right for the uppercut just hit in the stomach on each side and you can get like four or so stars just by hitting him as he goes low.

Was this list made by a drunk person? Macho man from SNES outranked tons of extremely hard fighters, and great tiger, one of the hardest punch out fights, was 55?

Im ngl the TD Bald Bull has got to be most realistic if it was an actual fight Mac is trying to get a star while being down to one final down same with bald bull while these 2 are in round 3 neither want a decision .bald bull does the bull charge and it was either going to be mac or bald bull to take the round mac gets his star and he finnaly tkos bald bull That right there was cinematic lol
