Changed my mind about below, I think X3 is better now because if I have to mop up pee I don’t want to add that back into my cleaning solution. It’s less about dirt management and more about absorbed substance management. Either way here is my original comment with edit notes at the bottom: I feel like the clean water system is a marketing gimmick. It does work however… The 3 chamber system squeezes dirtiest water into chamber 3, wets mop with semi-clean water in the middle chamber, which if you put the mop up and down will transfer all the chamber 2 water into chamber 3, then you can refill chamber 2 with fresh clean water from chamber 1. The dirt management is real, the necessity for it is not, I found the JOYMOOP was better having utilized the extra space for including a second dry compartment. Moisture management is a much more effective way to prevent redepositing dirt on the floor, if your mop is clean and dry enough it will trap and lock dirt to be released into the solution, but an overly wet mop can seep dirty water and allow it to dry creating a dirty spot, also when too wet, you are more likely to be sliding all over the place or waiting forever for it to dry. The clean water system is cool and all but without the dry squeegee chamber I found it difficult to control moisture and above issues were a problem. JOYMOOP gets the water visibly dirty but seemed to clean better given the dry factor increasing capillary action, also feels more sturdy and easy to use, plus a longer handle if you want it adds up to JOYMOOP overall being better for long term use. All of that said, you can potentially control moisture in the X3 by just not putting a lot of water in the middle chamber; but the main thing clean water systems do well is being more efficient in not wasting cleaning power and it’s just not something that is necessary in my opinion because a gallon of cleaning solution goes a long way already, I don’t want to sacrifice build quality and ease of use just to prevent dirt from getting into my mop bucket. We’re taking dirt from floor into the water, if I have to replace the cleaning solution that’s easier than dealing with the downsides of the X3. X3 is great in theory and I think it could be iterated on to beat the JOYMOOP, but as it stands the JOYMOOP is ahead of the curve for actually mopping if you ignore the “clean water” marketing gimmick. Mop water looks dirty instantly, it’s normal, it still cleans as long as the mop head comes out clean and it makes bubbles. Notes for X3 designers to learn from JOYMOOP’s lead: -attach handle to bucket not lid (done in newer version of JOYMOOP) -handle axle should be positioned to balance the bucket when water is only on clean side -add a dry chamber for squeezing water out of the mop -add another handle extension for people who like long mop handles -higher quality materials and better closure mechanism -improve the water transfer valve which leaves some unused solution at the bottom of the clean chamber -increase capacity because the small 1/3 compartment can only hold half of what the JOYMOOP can As much as I feel clean water system isn’t necessary, it would still be nice to have in a future version with the above changes, so that I don’t have to change the water as often. EDIT 2: changed my mind I like the X3 better, I figured out I could just put less water in the middle chamber for ideal moisture.

I tried both today, problem with the X3 is it doesn’t have a way to dry the mop while water is in the middle chamber, so it just gets things wetter and wetter unless very deliberate about how much water you put into the middle. I much prefer the JOYMOOP method which lets you customize how wet or dry the mop is on the fly. If the dirty water is a huge issue, then you can always use a second bucket for rinsing between runs; but to be honest even dirty looking floor cleaner still has cleaning power with the right moisture level because it sucks the dirt in with capillary action. The thing to pay attention to is the suds and the mop head itself, it should bubble up and clean the mop head, if the water is no longer bubbly or the mop head is coming out dirty, then you won’t have much cleaning power and might actually deposit dirt. With the X3, the clean water system is important because without being able to control wetness as easily you’re much more likely to deposit dirt so it’s a good thing they have the chamber system. Anyway, X3 is unbalanced when hanging from handle, and handle is part of the lid so bucket falling is a fear. JOYMOOP handle is part of the bucket so very secure and it’s perfectly balanced when hanging by the handle, also the mop itself has an extra section so you can make it super long and is more sturdy. Overall the JOYMOOP has higher quality materials and construction while the X3 has superior design for people who prioritize having a clean water system, but as I said a clean water system is more of a gimmick and only really makes sense for car washing where you want to minimize chances of scratching paint, but for the floor I highly doubt a tiny bit of dirt in the cleaning solution has nearly as much impact as you think it does, it’s just very visible so people think of it as nasty. Personally I find clean water system to be a gimmick and even if I wanted to use it, I could just do so with an additional bucket filled with water and that would be easy to dump and not come with the downsides of the X3.

If there aren’t 4 wheels it’s a no go for me at this point.

A great review, thank you! I have the first one you've shown. It drives me crazy! Hard to put the cleaning pad on or to take it off. Also for some strange reason, the top of the bucket is very hard to remove and put back in. Always a struggle. I did drop the entire bucket sadly onto my carpet because even though it looked like it's clicked in place but it wasn't! I now always have anxiety whenever I lift the bucket out of the sink! Lastly, the knob that allows the flow of clean water to fill the middle section, it never fully utilise all the clean water. It wastes clean water and detergent because some of it will never get used. I have been using this mop for several months now and I'm hating it more and more with each use. I feel like it's a great effort sometimes to just do a small mop job. I am now looking for an easy and simple mop solution, less painful to use. I think the spin mop may be closer to what I'm looking for.
