But the people of Chile have voted massively to retain the economic system implemented by the Chicago Boys, including the 1980 Constitution signed by president Pinochet. Every poll now indicates that the next president will be either the daughter of a Junta member (Evelyn Mathei) or the brother of a prominent Chicago Boys (Antonio Kast), and of course both will keep and probably deepen the free market system.
