These are some of the coolest visuals I've seen for a DJ set...or just in general.

The visuals you added to the footage are lovely. I like how they show over Geologist's shirt too sometimes haha. I'm using this video to decide if I'll go see him in Keene NH this Friday. I've seen Avey Tare twice live so far, so I'd be one step closer to seeing all 4 solo plus the band together. This channel is special to me so thank you for constantly adding to it. :)

If you ever have the option to see any of them play in any capacity, always take it. I have never left their shows wishing I didnt come out.

@@PreaknessBoots Same here so far, haha. I did end up seeing him and I was astounded to learn the set was a whole solo album that he's been working on. Even got to chat with him for like 20-30 minutes. He recommended an art installation called Wave Farm if I remember correctly, and suggested my friends and I listen to Keiji Haino, a legendary experimental Hurdy Gurdy artist. I also discovered Sun Ra Arkestra since he was wearing a shirt of theirs and I mentioned that I thought it looked cool. My friend asked him about how the Hurdy Gurdy works and Brian went into depth about it for a good 5-10 minutes. My friend said "wow, sounds really hard to keep track of all that" and Brian simply replied tongue in cheek, "oh, impossible. It's impossible." The venue was incredibly intimate, at a restaurant with candle-lit tables. It had great colored lighting for his set and the disco ball lights were a nice touch. I got to sit at the closest table to the front too. What a show that was, haha. Steve Gunn was pretty funny too, he saw a bunch of college party girl types walk in, made an incredibly disgusted side glance to them, and then started wailing out a super high note on his guitar. He called Geologist "Geometrist" too lol, he just does not give a fuck 😂 Personally I haven't gone to a concert of theirs without being psychedelically augmented. No regrets. Avey is my favorite so far but Geologist solo was better than I expected. So happy he's releasing more solo material now. The DOSed cassette he was selling is pretty sweet too. No Hurdy Gurdy on it surprisingly. Oh, and the merch stand was new to me! I didn't see any staff for it. It was just a little corner near the entrance and next to where you order food, with the artists themselves hanging out and chatting. It was basically an "honor system" merch stand where you dig through the crates/boxes of merch, take whatever you want, and then scan a venmo QR code printed on a piece of paper affixed to the table and send the total amount for what you took. I've got a feeling that only worked because it's in a place like Keene, lol.

Why does this show seem so small? Was this very expensive or private? Th people seem too uptight and not too into it.
@Cassidy_NYC2 ай бұрын
It was $10
@PreaknessBoots2 ай бұрын
It was definitely not expensive. Read the description/title. It was a part of the Rockaway Film Festival. They played short sets before a premiere for a film they scored. It was seated and everyone watching was chill and enjoying themselves. Jesus

Damn. This is what’s missing from AC’s music now, that sense of real torment and pain as well as the wonder that is the necessary counterbalance. I think the last two records were great, but still there’s something they’ll never get back.

I promised myself I would not, and resisted for months, but I memorized all the new songs, now I'm attached to these versions and will be reluctant to accept changes. 😩 That's it. I won't listen to this stuff any longer, hope I forget everything before the album comes out. Bye.
