You must differentiate between 7 day creationism, which is not credible and the fact that there is a creator who has created the universe through the Big Bang, evolution etc. now, I know full well that theistic evolution is not a scientific theory but it explains why the universe is so complex and perfectly formed. Other theories such as multiverse theory are equally non scientific. Philosophy attempts to explain the complexity of the universe because stuff don’t make itself.

Prior to the emergence of the science of geology and early studies of strata and fossils, there was no such thing as "creationism", because no alternative view yet existed. It was pretty much just assumed that the Bible could be read as a literal account of the age of the earth. Christian scholars in the 17th century started looking for evidence of Noah's flood, they were in for a major surprise. The first ones searching for evidence of the Great Deluge were called Neptunists, because they could see evidence of erosion in land formations. Then came the Plutonists who could see volcanic and tectonic activity in land formations. Eventually, they ALL saw something very awkward - none of what they were seeing could happen from the biblical account of a young earth. The birth of geology was the death of young earth creationism, even if there's always a new young earth creationist born just yesterday rolling in town. It is no coincidence that with the rise of evolutionary theory, there has been a marked increase in life-expectancy, population growth, and a decrease in mortality from illness. Yet, there will always be those who will keep moving the goalposts, because science never offers the complete certainty of knowledge that theocrats claim to have. They will find some gap in our understanding of nature not explained by modern science to suggest that criticizing science supports creationism, and when a fruitful explanation eventually appears that in some way advances medicine and technology, they will just keep moving the goalpost and not explain why their creationism has never produced anything fruitful.

@@KenMasters. so who created god? because according to what you just wrote your god had to have been made my someone, or are you gonna make and exception for the very statement that you just made? your answer leads to an infinite unintelligible paradox, who created your creator, and who created them? and who created them? ad infinitum. at some point we are left with the obvious reality that yes, something had to be the first thing, something had to have simply "poofed" into existence. i find it absurd that you would say that the first thing is more likely a magical man in the sky who cares about just one little species on one little planet, all because some bronze age fable with dragons, demons, witches and unicorns told you so.
@KenMasters.13 күн бұрын
@ The Creator of Creation doesn't have a creator. Unlike the Big Bang, God is eternal, meaning He literally never had a beginning nor end in His own life. God doesn't even have an age, calendar, nor time clock like how Jesus does. Also, no one ever successfully proved the Bible is a fable, and the Bible never described Him as a "magical man in the sky".
@RaptorJesus.13 күн бұрын
@@KenMasters. "The Creator of Creation doesn't have a creator." how very convenient. so everything needs a creator except the thing that you believe in, gotcha. as to "god is eternal" how do you know the universe is not eternal? your god could be utterly redundant. as to the bible being a fable, did you see the part were i mentioned witches, demons, unicorns and dragons? it belongs squarely in the fantasy section with LOTR. as to the truth of the bible there are plenty of claims made which we know to be straight-up wrong, like the global flood, lets ignore for a fact that we have trees older than when this flood was supposed to occur, and also that there isn't enough water on the planet to flood it, we also have history getting along just fine in other parts of the world, like feudal japan, no mention of "oh no we're all drowning".
@KenMasters.13 күн бұрын
@ This is not just my belief, this is the literal interpretation of Yahweh (name literally meaning "Creator of all Things") based on research. But the universe IS not eternal, we can both agree with that, because: On my standpoint -> God created the universe in six days. On your standpoint -> The universe "expanded" from nothing for billions of years… Even though no human was there to see it. LOTR? Really? The writer of that classic was inspired by the Bible. Trying to make the Bible sound like a fairy tale doesn’t make you rational, but if you want to believe that humans magically turned from stardust into chimps into caveman like Pokémon then be my guest. The global flood happened in 2500 BC, it’s impossible because God does impossible things that we can’t do. But look where it got us… Extinct dinosaurs and an Ark-sized crater in Turkey! Yes, the Ark landed in that location and the crater is still there.

A firm believer in God myself, I've never understood those who reject our biological and physical history. They are undeniable truths. Sorry, with all due respect you are misinformed. Creationism has zero supporting evidence (unless you have something new). Complaining that we don’t know everything is not much of an argument. True, we don’t know everything but nothing we do know suggests a need for gods.
