From my perspective, and from what I’ve heard from others I know who play, the pricing structure in Sky: Children of the Light is simply too much, especially for new players. I did the math, and for just one outfit, including the necessary items and the season pass, I’d have to spend between $20 and $60. If I wanted a couple of outfits a month, it could easily cost me that much-just for cosmetics. And with the current seasons, including the “Season of Radiance,” the “Season of Love,” and the other seasons, everything feels way too fast. It’s hard to keep up, and it’s overwhelming, especially when the prices are so high. The constant cycle of new content, like “weekly travelers” and new spirits, is understandable, but when items are only available for a limited time and then disappear forever, it starts to feel more like gambling. The pressure to spend money on these fleeting items, especially when they’re locked behind paywalls, makes the game less enjoyable. It feels like the goal is less about fun and more about squeezing out money from players. This fast-paced cycle, combined with the steep prices, really harms the experience. With all the seasons and new content coming at such a rapid rate, it’s too much for a lot of people. It’s making it harder to stay engaged because it’s like the game isn’t giving players a chance to breathe or actually enjoy the content they’ve paid for. Maybe it would be better to change the way limited-time items work-convert them into something like candles or in-game currency that players can use over time to unlock things. As it stands, the current system makes it feel like the game is less about having fun and more about pushing players to keep spending. While Sky is visually stunning and full of potential, the pricing structure and the overwhelming pace of content release leave me-and likely others-feeling frustrated, disconnected, and reluctant to keep investing.
