I always enjoyed flying the MD-11, DC-10. Flew them across the Atlantic a number of times. Comfortable ride, best flight was on a KC-10 from Andoya AS Norway, into McGuire AFB NJ dragging six F-15's back across the pond. 13 hours, but it was enjoyable. I still believe the L-1011 was the finest Tri-Jet ever produced. That was a spectacular aircraft

I have an MD11 cargo plane that flys over my house every night, it's still a commercial flight, not passenger but commercial

the MD-11 was much like the 747-400, that was the last passenger flight of the Md-11.

NOT A FAN .... TRI-STAR ALL THE WAY .Considering that they made airplanes like the f-4 and f-15 the DC-10 was shameful in many ways . YES I know this isn't a DC-10 but it is close enough for me to want to avoid ....I wish they would have built the DC-10 as well as their military aircraft ...I know this company growing up in St.Louis ... One of my relatives was the companies first CNC tail assembly operators ...The DC-10 was not as safe as the L10-11 PERIOD .

So sad because to me the MD-11 still has a place and relevancy in today's modern commercial plane era. Being a tri-jet was unique in and of itself. And we haven't seen one since. I think if they had updated it with better bigger engines as they've done with the Airbus A330-NEO the MD-11 could still have a VERY viable place in the commercial market. It's a great jet in size competing with the A330 and 787. While the A350 can compete with the 777. It's a shame that it's gone now and pretty much relegated to cargo duty.
