I put my bird seed in a bucket and take the hose to it outside. All the sunflower seeds and junk will float to the top. I rinse it until the water is clear and nothing is floating.

I soak in pint mason jars overnight,drain, microwave for 2 minutes. Then let cool for an hour with door closed . Then put a piece of mushroom in jar cover with the type of mask that you used for pandemic then put the band on . Works for me.

Sounds like a genius idea tbf. Don't own a pressure cooker so this will be my first attempt cheers. Quick question though, we're the grain not too wet?

What about the corn I keep having cracked corn soggy bits?
@TBear-de9ci Жыл бұрын
I suggest using a bird seed mix that has little to no corn. I've read corn and sunflower seeds both have the issues getting moldy and ruining the batch. I think popcorn is fine but the type of corn in bird seed mix gets that mushiness you're talking about. Also, just take the time to rinse the seeds a few times before the boiling water part of this video. You can get all your seeds in a bucket, fill it with water and just agitate the seeds with your hands rather than using a skimmer to just scoop around boiling water. Its safer and you can rinse a few times and get rid of most the dirt before pouring the boiling water in. I usually rinse 2 or 3 times to be sure the water comes out clean.

How does it price out between that and popcorn or feed corn?
@novaenricarter705 Жыл бұрын
Feed corn around my location is about 4 dollars cheaper per bag of 40 LB however I'd opt for WBS in general because it has a greater surface area and inoculates faster in my experience.
