From what I understand, it utilises linear motors under the tracks, where the rolling stock linked to the motors by magnets.
@zedlewis_hobbies27 күн бұрын
The trackbed is made of a series of very very small electromagnets, which can be switched between N, S and off polarities. Each piece of rollingstock has its own permanent magnet in it's base, to interact with the trackbed. To move, each electromagnet in the trackbed is rapidly switched between N, S and O(off), so that the north polarity "moves" along the trackbed, like so: 1. N-S-O-N-S-O > 2. O-N-S-O-N-S > 3. S-O-N-S-O-N > And the wagons / trains are attracted to the north, and repelled from the south, so they keep moving with the magnetic 'current'.

Been around for ages. Mostly Triang was the affordable choice of a large British migrant population. Australian outline is becoming more popular now that there are several mainstream manufacturers.

One thing that really stands out here is the close spacing of the concrete sleepers. Must have employed a REAL track engineer here with a liberal budget. Wonder how long it will take for the rest of the network to look that good. 😉

Great Video but would love to see the inside of carriages & Locos
@Comeng998Ай бұрын
Cheers, and that is fair. This is a chase video, which is what most of the videos on this channel usually are. Sometimes we do ride behind the specials and those are marked with the term "ride" in either the title or description. To see the locomotive cabs are usually only available during special events, like the Newport Open Weekend.

Initially when the model was released, it was $660. All the variations are now out of stock and the value of the models can be higher than the recommended retail price these days.
