Roger questioning what 'life balance' even means because after all those things you're doing *are* your life, so just get on with it - a simple but profound and meaningful observation. Thank you, Roger.

Pretty amazing that you'd accept an award from the "British empire" when you currently see what they're doing, and what they've always done.

I cannot express how happy I was to escape production jobs headed by art directors who did not appreciate the need for wheels & carts. THIS is awesome.

Deserves all the recognition he can get. And I understand why people take awards of the empire, but it's always tricky for me when people accept OBEs, CBEs and Sirs because you're still endorsing what empires stand and stood for.

I remember several years ago I connected the dots that most of my favorite movies were shot by Deakins. Even if a movie itself isn't great, he somehow makes it worth a watch

These awards do nothing for filmmaking Roger, nothing for the UK film industry which is a recession in 2024 because of the Hollywood system.

Re ‘imposter syndrome,’ it’s really only at ‘that’ level - i.e., Roger’s expertise and practice - that it’s real. Most people who describe it as a thing they’re plagued with are suffering a misunderstanding while tuning into something correctly, that their discomfort is felt because they actually are imposters confusing basic competency with expertise.

Hi. I'm the host and this interview took place in late November. It was cold. I'm wearing a sweater. I am hoping that there was a more valuable takeaway for you somewhere in this hour long interview than my wardrobe. I don't say this to defend my choice so much as to attempt to redirect your attention to what's truly meaningful here. The answers from Roger and James. Focusing on what I wore is like going to eat dinner at Noma and leaving a one line review about the color of the host staff's dinner jacket.

my question is how does it handle going down hill? if i'm heading down a 20 degree slope. does it have a neutral setting so I can ride the brake down the hill? or a brake assist?

So the aktiv part you mention that’s the receiver, it’s the part that connects to the linked in description Dana adapter. What part is that? I can’t find it anywhere on any site. You also see it when you flip the dolly over. Thanks.

How much extra weight does this add to the overall build? Also, what is the average runtime you're getting with 800#s on there?
@cinekitlist
@cinekitlist Жыл бұрын
The Make Your Cart Go system weight is negligible. You are swapping out the wheels and only adding a battery, control box and throttle. I'm guessing here but it might add 15-20 lbs total to the build? We turn our battery on and off every time we use the cart. So it's not draining much on set. We charge up the battery every two weeks or so. It can go awhile! Good questions!

So, how do they engage? Trigger for fwd/rev or do they autoengage when you start pushing?
@cinekitlist
@cinekitlist Жыл бұрын
Good question. You can see the throttle at 1:49. There's a switch for fwd/rev and a trigger to activate. You don't have to use the electric mode. The cart will still roll manually. But the electric assist mode makes a world of difference as you can see at 2:38 when Wayne is pushing the cart up an 8º incline with a single hand!
