1:38:14 Genius. Islamophobia is a matter of power dynamics. This makes so much sense and reminds me of Edward Saïd’s book orientalisme (it actually makes me understand it so much better now thank you). The blatant distortion of the Islamic faith and of the history of Muslim societies to portray a disgusting image inferiority , barbarity and everything negative is created to assert a form of domination over us Muslims while putting us in the box of the imagination of our colonizers.

I value and respect the Scholar but being disappointed with his interpretation. He starts out with Allah admonishing the Prophet for his behavior to the blind man (his interpretation) and then quotes the Quran of the Prophet’s character being exemplary are opposing to one another. The Prophet sets the example of moral and ethical behavior for mankind-this was his ultimate mission. So I highly doubt he ever frowned to the blind man. And I highly doubt he would be indifferent to the elite or rudely disrespect the blind man-this is not his nature. The Quran is riddled with his exemplary character so I could never believe he ever behaved badly to any being or thing. You can’t be the role model for mankind and be disrespectful to the disabled. Makes no sense.

JazakAllah khair Professor Khalid Abu El Fadl. can we say this? خَلَقْنَا refers to the fundamental creation or origination of something from nothing or from its basic components, such as in the creation of human beings or the natural world. جَعَلْنَا implies setting, appointing, or positioning something into a certain state or role. It is often used when referring to placing something in a specific condition, transforming or appointing it for a purpose, or setting it in its proper place within a system.

1:30 on cancelation of Sheikh’s khutbah at the ICSC, correspondence with the ICSC representatives, and the issues it presented 12:56 the issue of the janazah prayer 13:45 the issue of commanding a scholar what to talk or not talk about, and the import of authoritarian and despotic attitudes 16:17 a procedural issue and dishonesty 18:33 decisive issues, moral considerations, and the definition of what is decisive 24:03 the lack of transparency as a characteristic of authoritarianism, despotism, and arrogance 26:45 speaking on so-called American Muslim issues and a failure to understand what they are 29:45 “Morality is, by its nature, divisive. Ethics is, by its nature, divisive. Justice is, by its nature, divisive. When you talk about justice, by definition, there will be people who do not like it. And what makes all the difference is on what side of justice you stand. That’s what defines you before Allah. That’s what makes you a representative of Islam or a disappointment to Islam.” 30:28 Mohamed Morsi: his struggles, and martyrdom; crimes of Sisi 34:53 Hadith on those who don’t rise to speak and defend the truth are mute devils 35:24 Muslims’ failure to stand by morality 35:55 if Sisi or animals were oppressed, as Muslims, we must stand to defend them “because morality cannot be divided and separated.” 36:21 a dream of an Islam where Muslims align themselves with human rights issues 36:41 Muslims and their fear of naming a dictator and what a response to this issue should be “Go read [their] human rights record and shame on you! Shame on you for supporting a dictator!”; the issue of censorship 37:40 censorship and what will happen afterward is “we will come together and like nice boys and girls we will talk about salah and we’ll talk about sawm and we’ll talk about justice in generalities without any applied examples.” 37:57 ICSC and its failure to take a position regarding LAPD’s abuse of minorities; silent Islam and its impact on the young generation of Muslims 38:54 “When the day comes and you see my Ummah,” my Ummah meaning Muslims, doesn’t mean American Muslims, doesn’t mean Canadian Muslims, doesn’t mean Pakistanis, doesn’t mean Egyptians, my Ummah - Muslims, “fears pointing the finger at a dhalim, at an unjust, person and saying, ‘you are unjust,’ then there’s no hope in them.” 39:44 “You will command what is right and stand against what is wrong, and if you don’t do that Allah will send a collective curse upon you and you will then do dua for Allah, ‘please end this suffering’ and your prayers will not be answered. This is what the Prophet taught and this is what Islam is.” 40:38 the sahaba of the Prophet have reported to have said, “When we gave an oath to the Prophet after we became Muslims, he took an oath from us for seven things” one of those things is that we stand against the unjust with the person suffering injustice; Islam isn’t just about the shahada and correct performance of prayer, etc. 41:50 “it is either you confront the unjust and you stand up against the unjust and you force the unjust to end his injustice or Allah will drown you in a curse 42:46 Islam is about a principle and the principle of justice; investigation of justice through scholars like Dr. Khaled Abou El Fadl 43:55 being unauthorized to tell someone, even as a scholar, what to talk or not to talk about 44:27 “you have killed our religion when…” 45:27 “Human Rights Council can talk about it, Human Rights Watch can talk about it, Amnesty can talk about it, Jewish organizations can talk about it and they did, we, Muslims? No! We don’t want controversy. Who is your God? Popularity? The Donors? Your Friends? The money? What is it? We need transparency…” 46:20 salat al-ghaib for Mohamad Morsi throughout the world; and forbiddance for the salah by Saudi Arabia, Emirates, Egypt, Jordan, and the Palestinian Authority 47:58 salat al-ghaib, martyrdom, and schools of thought 48:10 the right to call for prayer as defined by the Shari’a and the bid’ah, innovation, of governmental interference with it and absurdity of the situation 50:11 “When you defile and defame and disgrace our religion and our Shari’a, this is where I put my foot down and say, ‘Shame on you!”

Everyone at Usuli, thank you so much for all the work you do. I think I speak for many when I say this institute has radically changed my life and deepened my Iman more than any other Islamic organization. Thank you For anyone who is itching for the Sheikhs work on the Sirah, the Skeikh has recommended this book and I cannot recommend it enough: “Mohammad: Prophet of Peace Amid the Clash of Empires” by Dr. Juan Cole. Although there are clashes with Islamic orthodox, those clashes are very reconcilable and the perspective Dr. Cole brings is incredibly beautiful and completely changed my relationship with the Prophet SAW.

This was a good open discussion 👍🏻 alhamdulillah, ma sha Allah. But we have to keep the bigger picture in mind about US imperialism in the context of Latin America, for example, the Cuban Revolution. There are good discussions on that on Thinklink institute. Humanity has seen " "industrial revolution" that's destroyed morality and climate. In sha Allah, in the coming years humanity will witness Palestine as The INDUSTRY OF REVOLUTIONS. 💪💪💪. We've seen people fight for lands, in Palestine we are seeing people fighting for their legs.", as one Indian journalist/ analyst rightly puts it. As humans we are limited in capacity and we may be helpless without resources, even our Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) was at times feeling helpless, but we are NEVER HOPELESS. Hopelessness is NOT in our Islamic dictionary. Alhamdulillah, we are bound by a set of belief system that is so strong that we even have a prayer to God to strengthen, to refresh and to renew THIS faith in our hearts. I have yet to see another ideology or faith-based system that has such a strong element to it. “Allahumma Jadid Al Imaan Fee Qalbi” is an Arabic phrase that translates to "Oh, Allah renew the faith in my heart. Also, what Muslims miss to see is that every Friday we gather as a community, even in the most ruined places on earth... without even spending a penny on invitation for the congregation. We can use that blessed gathering to mobilise people to think for themselves. "The current education system is designed to sustain a particualar model of capitalism" ( Dr. A. Wahab Suri) that is not conducive to the benefit of humanity. I would suggest bringing Dr A.Wahab Suri to the platform. He explains that justice, what is generally believed to be only in courtrooms, is actually a human concern. I highly recommend Dr Suri for his extensive understanding on political theory and philosophy... Here, in this video he explains it kzbin.info/www/bejne/gYC4nGengrmhb5Ysi=p5MQQkHl9EkqHvND Your institute can connect with him through Dr Asad Zaman, the author of Islam Economics. I can help connect with Dr Asad Zaman if interested.

The law and teachings of Jesus was changed and evolved over time. The result was an altered religion called Christianity which required a final prophet to come and reteach the world. We’re not going to get another prophet to come and correct our ways so it’s upon us to stick as closely to the teaching rules and law of the final prophet otherwise we risk falling into the mistakes of the previous ummahs

This extraordinary woman is not only beautiful but also possesses a remarkable and grounded mindset. Most importantly, she embodies a vibrant and compassionate perspective on life. I deeply admire her wit and the sharpness of her satirical commentary-it’s always a privilege to watch her clips, as she serves as a voice of conscience for our time. She refuses to accept the atrocities of the world as normal, which speaks volumes about her humanity and unwavering commitment to true equality and justice. Her awareness and advocacy for these values are truly inspiring. Thank you, Nicole, for making my world a little better, even if just for a moment. It’s comforting to know that there are still people with a conscience out there.
