At one time, JD made it into the Guinness Book of World Records for hitting the lowest “C” note in the piano singing with the Stamps Quartet. He also hit that note singing on Elvis last LP on the song, “Way Down” which hit the charts after Elvis died.

Years after Elvis' death....they still sing it so emotional and beautiful. In the Elvis on Tour film they sang it also just superb. Such sublime voices.

Looks like Danny Gatton in Roger’s band for this live performance on Austin City Limits. Hope there are more clips from it elsewhere on KZbin. I saw Roger and this excellent band at our county fair in summer 1983

Ah, Roger....the really good songwriters sorta fizzled out the day you died. Earth hasn't been the same since. Sure do miss you, but I know you'll be in heaven when I get there. How do I know, you ask? Because ALL of the angels are there!
