@TopRevs i had an old yamaha 500 2 stroke at one time. They aren't like kick starting a 125 or 250. I think, for me, I have nearly broken my foot on that thing. When i was ready to give a good kick, I would pause and make sure it is a good one and not slow.

One sexy and badass monster of a bike right there! Will blow the doors off of a new 4 stroke MX Dirtbike if it's healthy and running correctly. Sounds very healthy and running well to me. These CR 500's run the best with PK Air Stryker Carbeurators on them.

I'm 51 years old, having grown up with all of these two strokes. Makes me very happy to see young people like yourself riding them, loving them, and making sure the 2 stroke riding revolution continues on. Somebody has to carry the torch. I won't buy any MX Dirtbike, unless it's a 2 stroke. I hate the heavy and way overpriced 4 strokes that so many kids like and ride these days. So so many advantages to owning a 2 stroke dirtbike, over owning a 4 stroke dirtbike. I started riding 2 strokes at the age of 5 in 1978. They're the only dirtbikes I will ride. The last 2 stroke MX Dirtbike that I bought is a 2022 GasGas MC 250, that I'm about to put many nice custom parts on. 4 stroke mx dirtbikes give their riders a very tame and boring ride. It takes alot more skill as a motorcycle rider to handle a 2 stroke. The biggest and most enjoyable healthy high, is cracking the throttle of a 2 stroke and waiting for that powerband to come on the pipe. That's when a rider better be able to handle alot more aggressive power, because if they are unfamiliar with how 2 strokes ride, they will find themselves flipped over very quickly, possibly breaking their back or neck. Keep representing little brother. You have a Real Man's Bike in that CR 500. That's a monstrous 2 stroke that takes alot of spine, courage, and balls to ride. Most people are deathly afraid of them. There's a damn good reason why most CR 500's have dented rear fenders from their former owners flipping them over. In my time, it was common to see many 2 stroke 500's racing in motocross races on TV. You really missed out having not been alive back then. Take Care Little Brother..Much love and respect to you from Sonny in Louisiana. You have yourself a new subscriber to this channel. PS. Since you like big bore 2 stroke mx dirtbikes so much, you might want to check out the Kaplan America You Tube Channel. They are friends of mine that own the New England Motorcycle Museum in Rockville, Connecticut. I bought my GasGas from them brand new. They also restore many vintage 2 stroke motocross dirtbikes to looking brand new, but much nicer than what they looked back in the day, when they were originally bought off the showroom floor. Ken Kaplan Sr and Ken Kaplan Jr on that channel are expert level motocross racers both riding CR 500's with that being the MX dirtbike of their choice and their favorite motocross bike of all time. They also have many fast streetbikes on their channel that they both restore and sell, as well as having many vintage mx dirtbikes and fast streetbikes in their motorcycle museum. Hope you enjoy that You Tube Channel if you don't already know about it. It's the best motorcycle channel on You Tube that is always coming out with new videos, most every day. ****KAPLAN AMERICA YOU TUBE CHANNEL****

That KX was a BEAST!!! If you lanched that little green 2-stroke KX in first gear and that powerband kicks in... 🚑 😁. My first 500 was an 84 CR, the last air-cooled model. I got a smokin deal on it because the dealer just got the 85 water-cooled 500’s. When I took it to the MX track and the sand dunes, I beat every 85 CR every time in a drag race! And I was the only one to climb over a particularly tall sand dune. Plus the light weight of not having all that wet weight up high on the air cooler made this thing agile! I’ve owned a half dozen 500’s since, but the 84 was my favorite of all time!

Two stroke engine. You should be seeing a little smoke coming out of the exhaust pipe when revving it, which I didn't see. It means the engine is running too lean on fuel. The very crisp sound confirms this. Should be running a little richer on fuel to extend engine life.
