I absolutely love what I just saw! This young man just picked up a bunch of experience and a pile of skills. He is a quick learner and he is getting some sage advice and tutelage from a veteran wrench and a damn good teacher. How lucky you both are. There is no telling how far this could go, but this young man has already learned more about cars than many men twice his age. The more he works on this project, the more confidence he will gain and the better he will get at it. It is a great thing to witness. Nice work, both of you.

I do the same burnout dry, with water and with prep; it only spins with prep

I really do think the modern muscle cars are cool, and I’m impressed by the engine tech. But this is why I don’t fuck with them. A carb and a three speed will do exactly what I tell them when I tell them, a factory ECU and TCM won’t.

What a solid engine…….. this is what season 5 for your BP 540? My buddy has their 496 ……………I pulled their cylinder heads ported them, milled them .035” and went with a Bullet solid roller………….. engine made 691

Yep, 5th season, 3rd on nitrous. I can't say enough good things about it! I'm hoping to be able to do a rebuild in the next year or 2. Bigger heads and more rpm.

Looks like the front of the van could be slowed down quite a bit to keep it from topping out and uploading the rear suspension

@MikeyNDa513 yep, I've been trying to save up for new shocks, these keep getting worse. I think all the years of launches have taken all the life out of these old Napa specials.
