Not U Turns I don't - that must have been much slower. Just that when you are using clipless pedals, there's no way you can regain your balance when you lose your front wheel

@@axebuzz You are right, I hope you are ok!! It seemed like you oversteered way too much at high speed. In Urban riding I usually take corners with alot of patience exactly for that. Ride on brother!
@axebuzz14 күн бұрын
@@S1Carter7 Yup...was a tad careless coz that was the 4th loop (so my 4th turn at that exact spot) and wasn't expecting anything untoward at that speed. Lesson learned :D

Luckily there was no traffic when you fell. Could have been dangerous otherwise!

Phew, Yes...but I did signal a U turn (which I do even if there isn't any vehicle behind me just to set the habit) so the vehicle behind would have slowed down anyway.

How long did it take for you to get comfortable with biking long distances
@axebuzz Жыл бұрын
Still not comfortable with distances over 50 km. Prefer shorter distances with higher average power (and speed). Took me over a year to get to a 30kmh average speed for a 30km loop and another 2 years to get to a 34 kmh. But yes, I cycle only once a week and solo - so if you train with a higher frequency (and consistently), you should progress faster.

Not a very scenic route. I think you should wear knee pads and elbow guards if you are riding this fast.
@axebuzz4 жыл бұрын
Yes...not scenic...but wild in terms of speed coz you can really build the momentum without any signal stops (except for police nakabandis). Elbow/Knee pads are not great for road bikes (too bulky and hot). I cannot even get myself into one of those cycle jerseys coz of the sleeves - even though they might make my cycling more efficient in terms of wind resistance.

Nice to see you huffing along at 08:53. The doongerwadi road was blocked due to a landslide some days ago.
@axebuzz4 жыл бұрын
Lol, Yes. I had to shift from the 50 crankset to the 34 once I realised that the 20% gradient is not going to stop for a while. :D The Doongerwadi road would have made a super descent into Pedder Road but the block meant I could re-route through Chowpatti as well - which had some lovely visuals.
