Awesome! Reminded me that I hear Dick Lottridge play it with John Wildman on piano 30 some years ago at the Univ of Wisconsin. That blew me away as well.

What I always liked about this piece is the change from a little clumsy and silly to a bold and confident tone at around 1:10. Just like the pirate crew in game. Yes yes, we're the funny guys, but better don't mess with us.

There’s something about hearing and seeing someone actually playing the instruments that makes this song seem even more annoying. Like he has his own personal band that follows him around and plays. Also I would really love if Nintendo ever did an oot remake or something to hear live instrument versions of the themes, because when you hear it like this, it makes you realize how gorgeous this song is. Such a pleasant tone on the instruments

The world for bassoon in Spanish is very similar to a swearword in English.

The original name for the instrument (in German) is actually that word you're thinking. In fact the meaning of that word is just bundle of sticks and is the name used in most languages except English. Of course the word started getting misused to call certain groups ("bundle of sticks") and so it was obvious we needed a new name for the instrument.

As a sax bro, I've gotta bash bassonists.. this instrument wasn't made to be as dank as you're making it right now.. bassoon is so dull, but you're really using 110% of its power. I can't help but think this form is limiting to your skills.. pick up sax!!

Hi ! Really good interpretation (and instrument) ! I try to remake some orchestral zelda music in my daw and discovering many orchestral instruments. I didn’t know the bassoon, it’s a warm one, really expressive ! You sublimate it ! 🙂☀️
