This is the same for nail varnish, when it goes all thick and clumpy. The acetone evaporates every time you use the product, and with time, so you're just putting it back in. Just make sure your polish remover is 100% acetone, some are acetone free. This is also why getting fabri-tac on your painted nails spoils them. 😊
@junkjournalingbarbie50077 ай бұрын
Great advice! I never noticed the fabric on my painted nails yet but I don’t always keep them polished so that could be why, but I’m glad you told me because I would have been mystified lol. Science, gotta love it! Hope you enjoy your weekend and thanks for taking the time to watch and comment.

I tried the wax paper as well. When it would not release, I tried putting the page into the freezer and also tried microwaving the dry page, neither had any effect on the stuck napkin. It is still kind of pretty, but I won't use wax paper again.

I use the white with blue, Amazon bubble mailers as my non-stick surface. Plenty of them😜🤣 , they fold up easily, I travel with them and do them in hotels. Lady them all over the floor and they are dry in the am. I mix the glue and water in a half empty glue bottle or half coffee half glue (in the hotel). Just squirt an outer ring on the mailer, brush to spread, place napkin on top, squirt more on top and spread with brush. Super fast!!
@Gothlite-i1l Жыл бұрын
Opaque means "not able to see through, not transparent" which your wonderful creations are the opposite of. I think you mean to say transparent or translucent. I use the inside liners of cereal boxes to glue onto. They are basically wax paper and the glued napkins come up well. It has the added advantage of being a recycled material which I try to use whenever I can. I use Natasa's edge trick, too!

Yes there are a very thin border of that background colour, it's not stark white, kind of vintage looking. Sorry it took awhile to get back to you. Hope this helps. Barb

If your going to store watered down glue for awhile, it will still go moldy unless you use a sterilized jar and distilled water. I found that out the hard way after mixing several jars of different colors and wasted a lot of glue.
@junkjournalingbarbie5007 Жыл бұрын
Oh my THANK you! I'll add this info in my list as I am learning. Hugs, Barb
@TheCraftydevilSpeaks Жыл бұрын
I should have also mentioned, don’t dip the brush in the jar either, that will also contaminate the glue mixture. Pour some into a disposable cup to paint with. Don’t pour any leftovers back in the jar.

Freezer paper is hard to come by. I live internet n Michigan and finally found some . But don't mean they have it next time. I seen on another video using the bag out of a cereal box. I was wondering if I could use book or magazine pages besides napkins.

I set up a 6ft table covered w a flannel backed vinyl tablecloth as my non-stick surface. I am able to do several sheets at the same time by using a wide paint brush n slathering the tablecloth w glue mixture. With a ceiling fan running, they are dry in 2-3 hrs. Any residue glue is easily washed off of the tablecloth so I can use it over n over. It is so rewarding to peel those sheets up!

I’ve seen other KZbinrs use a silicon mat as a nonstick surface - if you ever go thrifting you sometimes find them in the kitchen section. Also Dollar tree has thin cutting mats that may work as well. Thank you for showing how to color the glue without coffee and explaining the possibility of mold/mildew. I live in the NW of the USA and that’s a real problem!
