The reason there was a global drought is because you killed all the animals and the animals were the things that was keeping the land at the elevation that was required for the ground to reach the sky to make it rain on the ground and now that they are dead you must make 6 km inflatable artificial mountains so the ground is closer to the sky and it makes clouds rain on the ground because you killed all the animals and that is the reason why there is a drought because the animals were the thing that was making the ground closer to the sky which allowed it to rain and now the animals are dead you must make the ground closer to the sky in order for it to rain

Love it, it really helps to drive home the futurist notion that any valid prediction of the future must be ridiculous at first glance! I thought you'd gone off your rocker when you started in on a non-existent sport 🤣 I got to meet your colleague Keith Coats last month and found his reasoning about the future to be fascinating. I'm looking forward to meeting you, Graham, at the upcoming 2nd Annual Education Vanguard Conference in Latrobe, PA.

Hi Graeme Dangerous thing you are asking for. SA goverment and Municipalities have "seamless" procurement policies.
@TheFutureAwareness2 ай бұрын
agreed, so let's normalize talking about solutions in everyday conversations for everyone... Like it doesn't matter how much energy or resources or time or land to make sustainable versions of products as long as that energy and materials are legitimately clean energy non-pollution and legitimately recyclable unlike Plastics or legitimately backyard compostable and biologically compatible

You are spot on Graeme. There was a time not far back that companies were outsourcing anything they deemed non-core. How procurement can be seen as non-core beats me. Am also reminded of major airlines outsourcing their call centres and the debacle this became for many of them.

It's for those of us who are having our children and raising them while also caregiving for elderly or disabled family members. For me it was both of my parents and then two kids born 11 months apart

This was an excellent debate. I wish I had an example like this to watch when I was in debating class at school. I would have gotten better marks. It was tough topic handled in a professional and thoughtful manner. Personal opinions aside, this debate does what a debate ought to… promote thinking about an opposite viewpoint.

Graeme keeps a straight face when lying about the bible, 43:09 Joseph didn't marry his sister. Asenath is an Egyptian woman, she is the daugther of Potiphera how is that his sister? It is sad to see someone lost in what should be saving them. May he find God in his quest to embrace/love the world.
@ameladu5 ай бұрын
Giving him the benefit of the doubt, he simply may have misspoken. I believe what he is referring to is the recorded Jewish oral history in the Talmund, which does state that Asenath is the daughter of Dinah, Dinah who is his half-sister, and daughter of Potiphera priest of On. Regardless of the truth on that matter, she's definitely not the daughter of the Pharoah, friend. So I'll offer you the same benefit of the doubt and assume you know and meant to say that Asenath is biblically recorded as being the daughter of Potiphera, not Pharoah.
@graemecodrington5 ай бұрын
Hi there. There's no need to give me the benefit of the doubt. There is just the need to do some more reading beyond what you were taught at Sunday School. And also to listen to what I said, when I said "In the Jewish tradition...". In Jewish tradition, Osnath (Asenath in English translations of the Bible) is considered to be the wife of Joseph, the son of Jacob. According to the Book of Genesis, she was the daughter of Potiphera, priest of On (Heliopolis). However, there is an additional layer to her story found in Jewish midrashic texts which state that Osnath was actually the daughter of Dinah, Jacob’s daughter, conceived as a result of her rape by Shechem. Dinah's father, Jacob, supposedly placed a medallion around Osnath's neck and sent her away to protect her. She was eventually adopted by Potiphera and raised in Egypt. When Joseph saw the medallion bearing the name of God, which he recognized as a sign of her lineage, he accepted her as his wife, thus she was not an Egyptian by birth according to this tradition but was of Hebrew descent. This midrashic account is seen as a way to maintain the purity of Joseph’s lineage by marrying within his broader family, in line with the narratives of other patriarchs marrying their kin. Having said all that, if this one moment in the presentation was your excuse to throw out everything I said, you really are trying to dance on the head of a pin, aren't you?

@@ameladu You are right I just made a typing error I have updated it. . . on the other hand he Graeme is taking us on a which hunt to go and read something which is not in the bible... if that is the case he is technically saying the bible is lying about Asenath, which I would rather take what is in the bible rather than his opinion.
@thecoworker90995 ай бұрын
@@graemecodrington In other words, are you saying the bible is wrong in saying Asenath was the daughter of Potiphera? what are the chances that Jewish midrashic texts are referring to a different person? You are the one dancing on the head of a pin with your argument that is based on your preference. The bible teaches us to go and preach the gospel and we use the bible to do so... not midrashic texts which are just comments not the actual scripts... You also fail to mention other midrashic that tells a different story about Asenath, to show that you are only interested in what makes your point.
@graemecodrington4 ай бұрын
@@thecoworker9099 The Jewish commentators are doing what all Biblical commentators do - making sense of the text. I am not saying they're right nor wrong, nor attempting to explain their interpretation (look it up if you're interested). All I am saying is that the witness of the people who take the Bible seriously shows that these issues are not as simple as a Sunday School level reading of modern English translations suggests. But again, I say, if you've listened to the whole debate and this is your major point of concern, you've both missed the point entirely and given me the "win" - this is such a minor point in the broader argument I was making, I assume that the rest was compelling for you... (that would be foolish, I know, but maybe you can do better in critiquing me then).

great point. i am always amazed at how much plastic waste i create. i work at avoiding plastic but you can never really escape it. i agree there will be a huge price to pay for all the plastic waste created by over 8 billion of us. who knows maybe it will be our most serious extinction threat ever. i am even sadder to say its already unstoppable. think about how much of it is in every car including EVs, every computer, phone, tv, tooth brush, bag, packaging, cling film, bottled drinks or cleaner. its mind numbing. i dont care how frugal you are with plastic use multiply that number by over 8 billion. i love to see clean up and im happy to help but imo our best chance would be if some super smart young kid can invent an alternative that doesnt lead to extinction. either that or they convince everyone to give up phones t.v.s and computers
