I really did not think I would like any other person singing this song than James Dewar, but this singer is great! This is Richard Watts? And he's also a bass player but just not playing bass at this particular concert? His voice isn't as gritty as Dewar's was but it still works well with this song.

I saw them in 2000, at Seattle's Bumbershoot. So here's me, a 50yo guy with a pony tail, standing next to a 20-something guy with about ¼ inch of blue hair; we're passing a pipe and screaming our throats out, singing God Save The Queen along with Lemmy. Still one of my favorite moments. (Encore numbers were: what else? Ace Of Spades and Overkill.)

--- Behemoth, Adam "Nergal" Darski, and Jesus: A Deeper Perspective The Polish metal band Behemoth and their frontman Adam "Nergal" Darski are known for their provocative music and strong critique of religious institutions. But how would Jesus respond to a band like Behemoth and to Nergal personally? Would he condemn them outright, or would he approach them with understanding, compassion, and wisdom? Let’s delve into this. --- Adam Darski’s Background and Jesus’ Understanding Adam Darski grew up in a deeply Catholic family in Poland, a country with a strong connection to traditional religious values. His rebellion against the Church stems from personal experiences with what he saw as hypocrisy, control, and a lack of authenticity. Jesus would deeply understand this journey, as he himself confronted the religious leaders of his time for their focus on rules and power over love and compassion. Jesus might say: "Adam, I see your pain and your struggle. You have witnessed the failings of those who claim to represent me, and I understand why you rebel. But know this: the love and truth you seek are not found in rebellion or darkness but in me." Jesus criticized the religious elite of his time for similar reasons, saying: "Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You shut the door of the kingdom of heaven in people’s faces." (Matthew 23:13) Jesus would not dismiss Adam’s frustrations but would meet him where he is, acknowledging the validity of his struggle while offering a higher path. --- Behemoth’s Message and the Danger of Glorifying Darkness Behemoth’s music explores themes like rebellion, Satanism, and independence. For the band, Satan often symbolizes freedom and resistance against oppressive systems. However, Jesus would caution them about the dangers of such symbolism. In biblical terms, Satan is not a figure of freedom but one of deception and destruction. John 8:44 describes Satan as "the father of lies": "He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him." Even if Behemoth uses Satan metaphorically, glorifying darkness and chaos can lead to alienation from the love and healing Jesus offers. Jesus might warn: "The freedom you seek is not found in darkness or rebellion but in the truth that sets you free." (John 8:32) --- Support Against Repression Adam Darski faced legal prosecution in Poland for blasphemy after tearing a Bible on stage. Jesus, who was also persecuted by religious and political authorities for challenging the status quo, would empathize with Adam’s fight against oppressive systems. He would support their resistance to unjust repression, even if he disagreed with some of their methods. He might say: "I stand with those who seek justice and freedom. But true resistance must be rooted in love and truth, not destruction." --- Jesus’ Invitation to Behemoth Jesus would invite Behemoth and Adam Darski to use their creativity and passion for a higher purpose. He would recognize their artistic gifts and encourage them to inspire hope and healing rather than despair and conflict. "You have extraordinary talent and a voice that can move hearts. Use it to bring light, not darkness." "I see your pain and your anger. Let me show you a way to transform it into peace and fulfillment." --- The Tearing of the Bible One of Behemoth’s most controversial acts was Nergal tearing the Bible during a performance. While Jesus would understand the frustration and protest behind this act, he would not condone it, as the Bible is sacred to many and a source of comfort and guidance. Such actions risk alienating those who find hope in its words. Jesus might say: "Adam, do you understand what you tore apart? Not just paper, but words that give life and hope to so many. You have wounded the hearts of those seeking truth in those pages." However, Jesus would not dwell on the act itself but would focus on the person behind it. He would invite Adam to channel his message in ways that do not harm or destroy what others hold sacred. --- A Conclusion: Love, Respect, and Healing Jesus would meet Behemoth and Adam "Nergal" Darski with compassion and understanding. He would acknowledge Adam’s background and the struggle of growing up in a religious system that did not reflect Jesus’ true message of love and grace. Jesus would also recognize Behemoth’s rebellion as a response to injustice and hypocrisy while cautioning against the glorification of darkness and destruction. His message would be: "You are deeply loved, no matter your journey." "Do not destroy what others hold sacred. Build what brings life and hope." "Come to me when you are weary, and I will give you rest." (Matthew 11:28) In the end, Jesus would offer Behemoth and Adam a path not of condemnation but of love, healing, and transformation, showing them that their gifts can be used to inspire a deeper, more lasting freedom and hope. ---
