I've had an 8x40 sfl for a couple of months now. They are bright and clear. Much better than my "old" Nikon 8x30 Monarch 7. Which is a very nice binocular, by the way. Very satisfied with the Zeiss.

Putting the same CPU in this camera is atrocious and a slap to face of A1 customers. This new camera does not equal $3,000 in upgrade costs when it brings nothing new to the equation in Video Codecs or Write Speed. That CPU overheats too fast and it bottlenecks the camera and doesn’t allow 8K60 or CF-A Gen 4 write speeds for 4K240. I have never had any complaints about the AF of my A1 since day 1, my complaints have been Sony providing nonstop firmware support to the a7C & A7IV over their Flagship, which is something Canon and Nikon would never do with their budget entry level models. It makes me sick to my stomach to be a Sony Professional and A1 owner since day 1, to see what this company has become. You watch, Sony will debut the new CPU in the a7V next year and drop a bunch of firmware into that body, that they will refuse to port to the A1ii, and they lie to their customers once again and say it can’t be implemented because the A1ii has the old Chip and the a7V will have a CPU that is more battery efficient, is less prone to overheating and can write the CF-A Gen 4 speeds, which will unlock higher end Video Codecs for B-Roll & 8K footage

Almost 10 years later, just got this one, the QX1, and the QX100. I actually live this one because of the amazing zoom distance and clarity that blows away my phone's zoom. Great for casual natureband concert photography. Such a fun, underated camera.

Might feel iterative upgrade, but the II improved on the few things it was lacking or got behind the likes of 7RV or the A9III, restoring the place of the all out non-compromised camera in the lineup. It's not really reported anywhere but the A9 III and the A1 has 1 stop better low light photography than the previous bodies (including the A7RV)

I really can't wait to get mine ordered and expect to receive it next two weeks to start my new photography adventures in our African Wildlife parks..

I don't believe there's any way to force the D-LUX 8 to power ON/return to the previous focal length used after turning the camera back on from, e.g., 40mm EFL. Bummer! Do you know any solution for this? Sony and Olympus cameras have had this feature for years.

I can imagine this being a fabulous P O K , for like holiday stuff in an incredibly topographic country such as Montenegro , am NOT being churlish ( busting a gut to justify getting one !) but so many reviews depict its use in a street shoot scenario, as a pretty seasoned techy in this field , even with really discreet machine which this is, soon as you stop to faff with a motorised zoom , you draw attention and loose the spontaneity, and, might get some annoyed looks , so for that reason "IM OUT"

Why choose? I bought the p1000 for myself, and the p950 for the wife. We swap back and forth depending on the shot needed

Came across your video while I was looking for reviews and info on this set-up, as I keep thinking about whether to splash out on it or not - or perhaps the 28-400 lens as a bit cheaper, and lighter. (I have Fuji X-T5 and 150-600mm but a bit disappointed with it.) Anyhow, my wildlife outings go pretty much like yours - no wildlife, lots of mud, no decent light....! but I love my wildlife photography anyhow. That was a superb shot of the red kite towards the end, and I think one of your little birds was a meadow pipit. Look forward to seeing what you get up to next!

I initially wasn't considering the X-M5 as I already have an X-T5 for my stills, however I might consider the X-M5 to replace my Sony ZV-1 for my KZbin videos as it's got a bigger sensor and I can use my existing Fuji lenses.

I have read and also seen on many KZbin videos that with the digital zoom, it hits 12,000mm. So I'm confused now...

in the real world, my photos are much more beautiful, I have often seen on you tubes the average quality photos. in real life it is magnificent.

Hi, thanks for your overview of the Lux8. I've one problem. The camera is set as I want it but after power off some of the settings revert to default. eg. DNG reverts to DNG/JPG. I'd be grateful for your help.
