Been living here for almost 2 yrs now. I much say living in Atlantic Canada is surreal experience. My second home

Being here at this moment in South West Margaree a few houses up from the grave yard and about to drive around the Cabot Trail today and listening to this documentary makes me feel like I’m in heaven. ❤❤❤ There’s no place like Cape Breton.

That was a great video. Entertaining, the whole way through. A true blessing to be able to get out there and build memories through such an adventure. Subbed and looking forward to more. Hello from the Annapolis Valley, where we label hills as "mountains" haha!

What a great video! Especially loved the rivers of frozen snot 😅 You really captured the struggle of fighting against the weather - those windy vlogs were amazing. It’s the first time I’ve seen a cooking camp tent like yours - complete with bench seating. It would be great to see how you set that up and also to know what food you prepared. I would easily watch a weekly vlog of everything that goes on at LLIT😊

My mom is from SW Margaree and I spent every summer there as a kid. I live in Ontario now with my wife and kids and make the trip back every couple of years. Planning to head that way again this summer. Can't wait. Loved the documentary. Really made me miss the area. Good job!

That looked like so much fun! I liked the water collection technique, I wonder if you could use a pump of some kind with a long tube... And the notes on what to do about wet feet, socks on the shoulders is pro. Kind of like what I do with gloves when they get sweaty, alternate, drying the morning's gloves in my pockets in the afternoon.
@livelifeintents5 ай бұрын
Usually I bring latex gloves to wear on longer trips in the gloves which creates a vapour barrier so your gloves stay dry. Same for feet - wear a thin sock, wrap feet in bags and wool exterior sock. Same idea - keep boots from gathering moisture and freezing up on long winter trips. Sleep with damp clothing next to skin to dry it out overnight too. You may stink but that’s better than freezing
@CanadianSledDog5 ай бұрын
@@livelifeintents "you may stink but it's better than freezing" - words to live by! Latex glove liners is a cool idea, I just use unlined leather work gloves most of the winter though, I run too hot. Sometimes a lined pair in the morning if it's -20. One thing I love is neoprene socks instead of outer socks, and merino socks on my feet. I prefer adding a dry base layer under the wet ones if I have the option, but I keep them on too. That's why I prefer synthetic bags.
@livelifeintents5 ай бұрын
@@CanadianSledDog yea synthetic or blend is usually best for our climate - lots of the new bags come with a gore-tex esq liner on the outside for moisture management in winter. No matter how well you vent the tent there is always moisture settling down on your bag. Gord uses a cheap sheet or hose wrap or tyvek over his bag at night to minimize this but I just deal with the damp exterior since mine is a blend and not an issue over 4-5 day trip. Downside is the bags are heavier but again - suffer a bit to keep r-value

Couldn't agree more about the mi goreng! You can make it as noodles with sauce or you can make it as a soup depending on what you feel like. Try mixing it with Wowbutter or peanut butter. On the west coast I used to be able to get these dry fried onions to top it with but I've never seen them here. Loved the video and the way you incorporated the drone footage! Cheers.

Looks like a great trip! Nice to have a stove to dry everything out. I make cowboy coffee with dark chocolate on the wood stove every morning and fill a big thermos for the day. There is no trick to cowboy coffee... it just cooks for at least an hour. The grounds will sink really well on their own when it's done.

A waterfall you cannot see from the air or land complete canopy coverage . Coywolves keep ppl away now . . . Great !

Such a sick trip! That looked like so much fun! I got the same GoPro, the battery life is atrocious but the price was right at the time. Mostly I use it on a chesty so I can keep it on life support, but having the little door open while rafting would probably not be good...

Just curious as to where you guys put the canoes in to start, I was going to put my canoe in somewhere around Park Spur Road up in the Highlands.
@livelifeintents10 ай бұрын
Hey Andre, Reach out via email and I can get you there. That being said, May would be ideal to be up that far. Water levels at this time are not optimal. This was shot the first week of June and we walked more than canoed for the first day or so. Canoes are obviously doable but not ideal which is why we generally use packrafts now. I would not recommend anything other than a hard plastic canoe - anything else will get destroyed.

@@livelifeintents I might actually reach out for the same information (put in location - we have a t-formex canoe :-)) . This is great, thanks!
