vanguard lovers damage that bristleback gets so his passive works a bit worse, so why do you need it

Whoops... I think the main reason i picked vanguard as my item is axe's taunt will force me to get hit from the front, and the attack speed i get from warpath will make me trigger more of his counter helix from the front, means it won't get reduced by the passive. You can also see Phantom Assassin also trying to hit my front at the lategame. I'm still going to reconsider your helpful comment as i'm not really that good when it comes to dota 2 🤗

You also can't really rely 100% on the passive + bloodstone combo as in the early times of the fight, the damage of the quill spray won't stack up that much, so you need some sort of survivability to help gather those stacks. At this point, crimson guard can be an optional item, as if your enemy has taunt, fear, stun, or any CC that force you to look at some direction, you can get bursted if they know where to attack.
