i see 2 black wires coming off the potentiometer..1 gets spliced to the the green wire right..?..where does the other black wire go..?..if you could clarify that would be greatly appreciated as this is a great solution....thank you in advance....

@DIYDON cut the green wire that leaves you with 2 greens now your interrupting the green so the 2 black of the potentiometer will go to the 2 greens

And you removed it from the FRONT of the truck instead of the REAR which would require you to remove the two coolant lines and plug them to keep them from leaking! Great vid, 'preciatechta!

Crank no start could be a number of things this video is just for the obvious we miss on a Kayo quad....for your issue I'd check spark, fuel in carb, might have to bypass kill rope switch,or the red restart switch you cant always trust those electrical switches they do fail good luck

For anyone who’s attempting to install one on a Razor dirt bike (MX400 in my case), I was able to splice a 5k ohm potentiometer in line with the green wire and it worked perfectly. I drilled into the grey fake motor and it protrudes from the side, under the shroud, so it is accessible, but not in a place where a kids knee would turn the power up or down accidentally. Speed is now completely variable. When turned down the kid will need to give a push off, as it won’t quite have the power to do it on its own.

And if you’re looking to make this task as easy as possible and don’t mind spending slightly more, I found after the fact that electricscooterparts.com sells an adjuster that just snaps in between the two ends of the throttle plug (between the throttle and controller).
