I am a U2 fan had to see The Unforgettable Fire tour after hearing “BAD” on radio. Sunday Bloody Sunday another favorite. Wrote U2 a lot and I suggested starting concert with Sunday Bloody Sunday get the fans fired up for show. A couple of years later The Joshua Tree 30th anniversary tour answered my letter. You wanna bet ??? Ask U2 who I am !!!

Not one radio station in Phoenix, Arizona or Tucson, Arizona (I lived in both for years) plays this song....desert sky, dream beneath a desert sky. They're playing our states' song for God's sake.

I am just now seeing this for the first time in 34 yrs since I had recorded it on MTV on my trusty Magnavox VHS player. Wow!!!! What you don't see after this is Iggy Pop at the podium, throwing his fist in the air to the applause of the crowd, and then making grunting sounds. This take me back, man...

I was at this show. It was incredible. My luck is amazing. Here’s why.. I’ve been to 3 U2 shows -Madison Square Garden July 31, 2015 (Innocence and Experience Tour) -Philly October 17, 2005 (Vertigo Tour) -Seattle Washington May 14, 2017 (Joshua Tree 30th Anniversary Tour) So.. whats lucky about that? Well.. Bruce and his wife Patti played during the encore Philly show in 2005 Bruce was at the show in MSG In Seattle Eddie Vedder (and Mumford and Sons) joined the boys on state and they all performed Mothers of the Disappeared and Exit to close it out. Its like I hit the music lottery.

Still impresses me how Dallas is directing everything to perfection for Edge, even in a setting like this. Professionalism incarnate.

I just found the original unedited footage from that night and uploaded it. kzbin.info/www/bejne/bnuxdpujjc9sgrs What's fun is how much everybody was partying before the band and how they continued to party long after Adam and the Edge left. Huge testament to The Unforgettable Fire and their showmanship that the crowd continued to rock out for at least an hour after this went down and didn't immediately run off to instagram their night.

The guy next to the camera saying “oh my god” over and over was so amazing. What an amazing surprise. Also, I assume famous band members love to just play the music and not have anybody expecting them to be there. Then that makes it more likely that real fans are going to be there

Wasn’t my first show of the Vertigo tour, first with friends Beth and Rick. We get to the ga floor and I’m standing there, Beth and Rick wandered off, show didn’t start yet, and I turn and there is Bruce is with Patti no more than 10 feet from me, standing there like any other couple would be at a show although they were in a slightly more enclosed area around the soundboard and I was leaning on the rail around it. Bruce and I looked square into each others eyes, this moment I will never ever forget. I think it took me a few seconds to realize yes, it’s him, while he watched me realize yes, it’s me, and then boom lights go down and Vertigo begins. I go get Beth and Rick and say come here and they follow me and I get them into position at the right spot and say turn around and gave them a moment they will probably never forget as well. What a year for concerts 2005 was, u2 Vertigo my fav u2 tour of all time and Bruce Seeger Sessions tour loved it.

Oh and Patti should have sat this one out because when Bruce joined u2 it was great and all the dude masculine energy was there from them and from the vertigo tour show and they doing People and then…wah wahhhhh…Patti comes out and basically cries a lyric or two and totally Killed the moment but still a great moment and night lol.

The look on Bono’s face when he found out dude can actually sing 2:35 is fantastic😂 As an aside, clips like this should make anyone objective realize Bono isn’t the douche everyone makes him out to be. One needs a decent level of self-awareness/self-deprecation/humility to have fun with someone imitating you.

Great handle name… Bono is anything but a douche, between greeting fans all of the time and actually talking them to all of the charity work that he participates in.

To be the ‘Bono’ in a U2 cover band, no doubt one of his favorite historical U2 moments has to be the Red Rocks show… right?! and then to be able to shout “This is the Edge!”…. To the ACTUAL Edge playing “Out of control”… in real life- 🧖♂️ I mean…. Whaaaaaaaaaa? You know? Yeah... Well HE KNOWS. Super Crazy
