It is always good to see ole Phil.. But being 70 myself I don't travel well but I would love to sit and talk with him for a few days.. He is an amazing man

I don't drink & never really have, could never cultivate a taste for Beer Wine or Alcohol (except when used as a mind altering drug to control self pity) though i worked in Restraunt/ Bar business all my working life-50 years in the Kitchen as Chief bottle washer & Chef BoY, with free booze being a job perk for those who could handle their liquor and not get sloppy stupid, But Phil is a man of special interest, i could sit and have a few pints for a few hours in conversation with, and likely get shit faced with Phil his self deprecating humor is top shelf. I share his passionate obsession for ancient Flint and Chert tools, the older the better. Genuine character Phil is, the real deal.

Phil comes across as a genuinely great guy who obviously loved his work and exudes excitement when talking about it. There's no better proponent for the the field of archaeology or, indeed, for love what you're doing and you'll wind up doing your best.

Loved to see Phil again. My kind of professor: unassuming, not trying to sound or look the part because he just is the real thing. Unlike so many pretentious fools.

I absolutely adore Phil Harding. As an American I get the biggest kick out of his manner of speaking our related language. Time Team is The Best and Phil Harding is the Best of Time Team.

Stop and think about it. What did you do in your past lives? "No doubt you napped flint!" You were probably a stone carver too.
@kurtbogle29732 жыл бұрын
I think your more than just a Archeologists. Your truly a connection to Human origins. I believe in Reincarnation, and I think your a very old Spirit. Your drawn to your origin the same as everyone, except you obviously have a very good connection.

A year late, but . . . Thank you Phil Harding, you are an inspiration, sir!

Excuse me Phil your not just a Archeologists Your a very excellent teacher of Archeology. I've learned lots about Archeology watching you explain the sights on Time Team. I feel that you were the core of the show. Understanding what your looking at and explaining not only what it is, but why it is, and why it couldn't be something eles . I'm a retired Sheetmetal worker but you bring our past to life so well that Archeology is interesting to me as well . We all want to know how we got here.

Mr. Phil Harding? A true, glass ceiling buster with rationale that shines a light on not only today’s world, but thousands of traps of historic civilizations and a roadmap to our present day culture! Mr. Harding? Bottoms up! Cheers 🍻

Really admire Phil, and am fascinated too by stone tools, Wiltshire's preneolithic history and his way of showing us how to cut flints and so thank you PHil for your wit and down to earth inspiration on the the digs. Hope you are on the new Time Team Somewore! As a child I grew up in Salisbury and visited the Rift valley as a teen and recently the Dordogne where Phils ancestors came from. Share his great enthusiasm for the ancients, and find his revelations very interesting, So thank u for this Q and A.

Beloved Phil I thoroughly enjoyed this , i wonder if he's read Jean Auels 'Clan of the Cave Bear" series of books , those and Time Team are totally what sparked my interest I wonder if Phil is aware of the new finds in Scarborough, Roman (I know) but looks like being a unique and very well preserved high status villa and Bath house I am hoping he will visit so I can meet him and tick that off my bucket list 😁 Love you Mr H

Phil always paints a picture that leaves me thinking. I certainly enjoyed watching him on Time Team. Anyone who can dig, and interpret what he sees and explain it in a manner that leaves a person with the realization that , "this is the spot where this actually took place so many years ago. So if we were here that many years ago. We could have watched it with our own eyes. Phil does an excellent job of this, and it makes it exciting.

As late bloomers of travel to London...(60 -75 days over 12 years) Archaeology has always been a major component of our reason to return. I don't normally quote scripture however...Proverbs-"remove not the ancient stone which thy forefathers have set." We look forward to this fall!! bk

So much in the way of bits and pieces of Archeology have been done all over, with the information and evidence is packed away in basements, crumbling notebooks! They are still finding information about King Tut from items that were just excavated then tossed into a rubbish room and sealed up in the Egyptian Museum as though it were re-buried! Archeology requires more people than just those who hop into trenches and scrape at the dirt! (Although it starts with them in most cases! ). Phil Harding is a brilliant example of the “Never Surrender! Never Give Up!” Philosophy. If being a get your hands dirty Archeology degree find how your next love can contribute!

My greatest hope for Phil now is that he gets to do a dig in The Rift Valley in Africa. I would love to be there meself when he did as well. Especially if there were a couple of guitars nearby! I can only imagine how much fun it would be jamming out some blues with Phil Harding. ^-^

I would love to see Phil as the head of the new Time Team they're trying to revive. The series needs an archaeologist as the head, someone who knows what's going on and has been on many field digs.

Knew what an archeologist was since I was in 3rd grade in 1977 and wanted to be one. Never got to be because both school didnt agree with me and my back was crap since I was little.
