So my DNA profile R1b, U106 Z30 lead to the Sinclair’s…? I know I am of German (to include Dutch), and French origins. Never thought of Scott, though Sinclair origin seems to be Normandy/French.

The goal was to move past the wimpy stock sound to something more "Harley-like". I hated the stock sound. I wasn't very happy with the loudness of the D&D, as it would wake up the neighbours coming home late at night, so I ended up putting in an internal metal baffle (the perforated cylinder) and it solved everything.

If you're referring to the air filter... I certainly wouldn't call it "hyper"-anything, but it does do its job fine enough, and looks way better than the stock "bubble" filter box. As for the sound, I eventually installed a small baffle right before the D&D to reduce the volume and increase the back pressure enough to get a smooth (and not so loud) ride. Overall, a better feel and sound than stock.

Bb is the key -- as for most horns. I am in concert pitch Bb because other instruments do that. Most pipe bands today play somewhere between Bb and B because they believe that in competitions they get an advantage for being "brighter". Of course this leads the next band to play a little sharper yet and so it is now appx 485 cps where Bb is 466 and B is 492. I think it a travesty but I don't run the piping world Thanks for asking Iain. Rory

This is in Eb but the pipes are tuned to Bb - so on the 4th - something like cross harp
