What a lovely update! Everywhere you went was beautiful. Appreciate when you pause to let us listen and look around with you. I'm a fan of cabbage too... tasty and it lasts a long while. I enjoy a spicy non-mayo coleslaw as a summer salad. It's made with pineapple and I've recreated the recipe from a favorite Malaysian restaurant that used to be in Portland, Oregon 25 years ago. :) I can see why days like the one you've shared are great reasons for living in a van.

I wish so much produce wasnt packaged in plastics… is there a produce market in the area that sells old school style?

I am not going to hike, I'm going to work on the cabinets for my van. I got the fridge/freezer cabinet nearly done and it's going to work well I think, then on to the sink cabinet next. We use a microwave and an air fryer in our van as well as induction. The air fryer cooks everything and bakes. Amazing tool. The microwave even cooks pasta perfectly. I’d never have known.

Once a person takes cooking lessons and learns the proper way to use stainess steel cookware you don't need Tfal. I even bought a Big Boss air fryer with glass instead of the regular ones. The glass is great. You can see the food AND it was a little less money.

Teflon is PFAS. Since I don't want my cancer back I tossed it. I refused to even give it to someone I don't like. Research this stuff

Pickled make sense, it has vinaigrette and the mixture of various spices and oh yeah Smoked Paprika

When cleaning your cast iron pan, do it while you are cooking. As soon as you take the food out, put warm water in the pan and put it back on the stove while the gas or heat is still on. You cast iron pan will self clean with the heat and hot water. It only takes 2 minutes. Then lighty scrub the surface and throw out the dirty water. Your pan will be clean and still seasoned and sterilised.

Basically it’s a parkour video with a tiny dash of vanlife sprinkled in. 😜

I have a 3 qt instant pot as well as an 8 qt. I tested the 8 qt on a 1500 jackery......forget it. It burned through the power just heating up. So next ill be testing out the 3 qt.

I love lentils. They cook quickly in my instant pot & are a great meat replacement. I use them in spaghetti sauce & taco “meat”. I have found that adding tomato sauce or fresh tomatoes has stopped the cooking process of the husks so I test for ‘doneness ’ before adding any acids to the pot. (I have ‘meatless Monday’ at least 2 times per week.) Thanks for the kitchen tour.
