If you take county S that runs along hwy 45 out of Oshkosh there is a 2nd M. Shettl store and more crazy stuff. It's actually the first store I knew of.

I had no idea this place morphed into such a curiosity shop. Back in the 70s it was a place you went for cupboards, cabinets, bathroom things. I think they dealt in discontinued items and close outs. So you could get good quality items at a deep discount. I remember when they started selling cement animals for your yard when that was a big deal. They had a pretty good selection then the guy must've just went crazy from there.

Oshkosh hosts the EAA, The Experimental Aircraft Association. Huge air show every summer so that's why there's so much aircraft type things in there. I've gone past that place so many times and I had no idea the place had all that stuff inside. Thank you very much being from Wisconsin your title piqued my interest.

Crazy place! I was there so long, long ago. I don't recall it was right along Hy41, maybe a different location but it was like the mid 1960's. Ah, 5' 6" the perfect woman. Thanks, cuz I've wondered for a long time!

Very Nice Tour of this unique store and museum. You are great at reporting technical details of equipment from a historical point of view. I bought materials there for some projects back in the 1970's when I lived west of Neenah, Wisconsin. Thanks for the memories and wow it sure has grown to include such a unique collection of art and history. Will have to tour it now. Not similar but a unique place to consider doing..is west of sheboygan....John Michael Kohler Arts Center. Interesting collections.
