So you say Austin is cold in winter and hot in summer. No one wants to live here because their two much traffic and rent is to high. The places to eat do not have food that taste like their mother makes. So who are all these people I see around here?

This looks like D.R. Horton special! That's just sad, my dad used to built houses and he made sure everything was done correctly while the subcontractors were there and everything was checked before they left. The homeowner shouldn't have to do that, it just reminds them of how little the contractor cares about the customer and the reputation of their company. Thanks for sharing.

I agree with earlier comments that average summer temps appear to be overstated. But it still is WAY too f*cking hot and humid. Property taxes also suck…..as high as California. Sure there is no state tax, but if your family needs state services (e.g., a disabled re are FEW if any state services available. I left Texas in 1987 when Austin was still a great place to live, it is now just another large city. Food choices are great, though……..another point I would disagree with.

I am a Texan, Austin very rarely gets snow. Temperatures usually are in the 90s in the summer months it is rare it is 112!! I think she might be using heat index. It is a great city and area, yes there are some traffic issues. Property taxes are on high side but NO STATE INCOME TAXES!

Yeah but the property taxes are very high. We purchased a new home in Texas 24 years ago when new homes were cheap. Texas is called the bipolar state. One year we received snow and 24 hours later, the temperature was 80°

Temperatures in Austin can be brutal. If you don’t like the weather, take your foreign/Californian ass home. We’d rather you not be here. The property taxes in Travis and Williamson county are too high and that’s because demand for services is too high. Too many people moved here. Again, take your foreign/Californian ass, jump on a plane or a train and go back to whatever ****hole you call home. Seriously, please leave. Austin began transforming from a nice, quiet place to live and raise a family to “Silicon Hills” when Carole Stewart Keeton McClellan Rylander Strayhorn (that woman got married and divorced as often as a dog pisses on a fence) became mayor and bribed tech companies to move to Austin with property tax holidays that lasted decades. That’s how Michael Dell got his start to becoming a billionaire with a net worth of over $107.8B. Kinda nice when your friends say you don’t have to pay taxes. 😮 With the technology jobs came the Rajis and the Hajis who just completely polluted Austin culture. The East Asians came too, but at least they’re polite and their food cooking doesn’t stink up an entire city block. Want to criticize Austin? Go back to Islamabad or Pune or Mumbai or whatever place you call home. Just git!!

Summer isn’t the issue, it’s Spring (Hail and Tornado Season). I wish I would’ve known that before moving to Austin. The second issue is that the people in Austin are garbage-extremely rude. The third issue is that the jobs in Austin, TX don’t pay enough and the cost of housing has skyrocketed.

Today it's all condos and high end clubs with the exception of a few . But besides the nightclubs and lake what else is there to do? Austin hardly has restaurants. I've lived in Houston and that city has everything. Austin is more for settled down families
