I just bought the 990 pro with heatsink 1TB for the Asus ROG Strix Z790-H Gaming, but i've read on reddit just now they are not compatible. Do you know it to be true? should i return it? Thanks in advance.
@nigamichigami
@nigamichigami 2 ай бұрын
I don’t see why it wouldn’t work, the z790-H has 4 m.2 slots: 2 are ‘m.2 22110’ and 2 are ‘m.2 2280’. Put it in the 22110 slots for best performance and it should work, you probably just can’t put the ssd cover back on for ones with heatsinks. If anything, I would say try it out then return it if it doesn’t work. Maybe buy an extra one now for more storage if both work, or return whichever you need to when you need to.

Hi. I can see that you connected the speakres to sub through LFE. So crossover is being done on the speaker side? Or you manage that in the app for sub?

Hi, did you have any issues with the Airpulse A100? What year is the production of your A100? You can find out by making a photo with flash through the back port onto the backside of the ribbon tweeter there's a production date. My A100 sometimes when turned and not playing music makes a very loud screeching sound followed by very loud snaps/pops from the tweeter, the ribbon tweeter actually damaged (small bulge) because of this. Also sometimes the tweeters make a muffled screeching sound, when turned off and back on they sound normal again. Did you experience this? The A100 speakers actually have this same issue as 2 sets of Edifier s880db that I own have! It's not because of my setup I think since I had this issue via optical on a tv, via rca (via external dac), and via usb on laptop. It's clearly the inner electronics/dac. the s880db and A100 both seem to have the same audio interface, same type of display, both turn on on mid volume and don't remember previous volume settings, and they were released around the same date. Edifier needs to sort their quality issues out, at this price point this is unacceptable.
@nigamichigami
@nigamichigami 3 ай бұрын
The only issues I’ve had is when I turn them on or off, the connected sub makes a thump when it turns on too. I think there are way to mitigate that as well, but it doesn’t affect me anymore because I use the A100 as rear bookshelves now. Overall, haven’t had any problems with them in like 2 years, have you contacted Edifier or Airpulse support about this?
@luca_rr4660
@luca_rr4660 3 ай бұрын
@@nigamichigami Thank you for your reply! I've also had that sub thump but think it's normal. Makes me think I'm just unlucky with this pair or the earlier produced ones have more issues?, I haven't read similar reviews as my experience from the A100, but from the Edifier s880db I read 2 Japanse amazon reviews of similar issues, explosion sounds from tweeters, tweeters/woofers malfunctioning. Edifier doesn't offer any repairs, such a shame, so guess I'm gonna look for other speakers as this is just scary, the feeling of the tweeters blowing your eardrums out at any moment when not playing music is just crazy. The A200 has older tech and possibly doesn't have this issue, only thing is that it doesn't have a sub output, no usb input and worse bluetooth. :/

So I installed the exact same thing on the exact same motherboard! Problem is, it's not being recognized by my computer. I've restarted a bunch of times, installed the Samsung Magician software (doesn't show up there), etc. The red light on the 990 does light up, so it's def reconizing it's there, but it's not showing up anywhere in any software. Any suggestions? It's just a backup drive to my main, so I put it in the second slot, just like you did on this build. Enjoy your pc!

I’m just assuming here, but the drive may not be initialized yet. If it’s not showing up in Folder, check in Windows Disk Management. Here’s a link from Crucial that explains the process: www.crucial.com/support/articles-faq-ssd/initialize-ssd-windows. Hopefully this helps!

That was the scariest part for me, it definitely felt like I might tear something or break something, but you almost have to carefully jam the knife in there and it will pop in. I think this step varies the most between people because of how the glue settles over the years, just make sure you push the knife in at the right place!

This pairing doesn't play well. The subwoofer does not fit these speakers. He plays separately from them, it is very audible even when he is in the center. and if you shift it, it will be absolutely terrifying.
@nigamichigami

Moving from a Bose soundbar and bass module to this setup for basically the same price was miles better, and I think most people know not to trust old iPhone mics and KZbin audio quality lol. For the price, and time in my system journey, the pairing worked very well, but now the Airpulses are my rear speakers and I have a dual sub setup. If you can plan ahead while budgeting, i think it’s fun to play around with different equipment to fit your needs!

Nice video, quick and to the point! You are spot on for home theater; the bigger sub the better. I’m cross-shopping the 3000 Micro against the SB2000 in a medium-sized room. I’m not a hip-hop guy and I think the 3000 micro would be quicker and more agile for music - agreed? (I sit about 8 feet from my speakers in a “midfield” setup)Thanks again!
@nigamichigami
@nigamichigami 9 ай бұрын
Thanks! Yeah for midfield listening and not completely bass centered listening, the 3000 micro would do you better than the PB2000. I haven’t been able to try the SB2000 myself, but from what learned online, the 3000 micro would be better in your situation because the extra power will benefit the 8 feet away positioning. If you have the time I would recommend using SVS return policy to try both and see what’s better in your specific situation, but let me know your decision!

How does it sound? Have you heard an original woofer 2.1 system or just yours? I have read that many of the 3rd party woofers don't have the same spec and don't sound as good.

@terencedalton72 so I gave the set to my dad for Christmas and it's been doing great, I wired it to be 8 ohms as 4 ohms would possibly harm the amp over time as the original sub was a 6 ohms. I did not hear how it sounded with an original driver so I don't have a frame of reference, but the Skar unit after about a solid month of break-in, loosened up great and sounded clean and hits hard, my dad told me that he is hearing bass lines in songs that he has never heard before. For the money it was totally worth it, the driver is made of materials that will outlast the amp, not to mention you will prob never send enough power to the sub to hurt it

I've done about 6 different JBL speakers with the SimplySpeakers' kits and most recently 2 of the 6.5" Klipsch subs from my old 4.1 Promedia system that my son inherit. I just would like to point out that different manufacturers use different glues and Klipsch's glue is certainly a harder material to remove than others. The other important thing is that some speakers have a very tight tolerance between the coil & magnet. This means that when gluing the sorround to the frame, you need to make sure the coil in centered, so it doesn't cause voice coil rub. This 6.5" Klipsch sub has a very tight tolerance and to do this right, you can do the following. I downloaded a free tone generator application, that can produce a 50hz. Frequency and produce it in sine wave. Prior to gluing the sorround to the chassis, I connect the speaker to a separate amp (not through the factory system nor speaker enclosure), since crossovers can prevent the 50hz from getting to the speaker. At a low volume, run the tone generator @ 50hz and start gluing. When pressing down, try using both hands by pressing on opposite sides. Doing this and running the tone, will generate a magnetic field that will keep the voice coil perfectly centered. You can keep it on for about 30 to 45 mins afterwards while drying, this makes sure the glue sets while the speaker is centered.
